To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

My school is officially stupid
I know I've made a lot of threads today but I had to make another one, this will be short I promise.
OK, so they have this new rule at my school because they've noticed lots of people have been playing shockwave flash games during classes in computer rooms, so now the school monitors whats on our hard drives or whatever (the space they give us to save things at school on the computer), so if they find any games on your hard drive, get this, they disable your account. I have a friend who's doing IT as an elective this semester and guess what they're doing for IT? Flash, so he's had his account disabled for having a Flash file on his hard drive even though it's to do with school, how the fuck is he supposed to do his IT work if they disabled his account? my school is fucking stupid.

Your friend (Let's call him Mark): No, Sir. I couldn't do my IT work because they disabled my account for having a flash file on it.
IT teacher: Hmmm....*goes to check with spy people*
Spy people: No, we didn't (They'll say that even though they did)
Mark: Yes, they did
Spies: No, we didn't
Mark will then get detention for 'not doing work' and 'lying' even though neither of those were true or his fault.

One thing (among many others) school couldn't teach you.

That's soooo stupid I can't help but laugh...
Hmm. How about people rename flash files to something else? Like instead of .swf, make it .jpg or something, and then open them manually in flash player or something. Then all the school sees is corrupt picture files

That's probably their best bet. Rename files to .doc (or .docx if you use Office 2007) files so they actually look semi-legit (although if you open them they'll be corrupt...) and people won't really care.

we live in Australia...but yeah, there's not much he can do now 'cause his account's already been disabled...I doubt the "spy people" would lie about blocking the harddrive, more likely he'll get yelled at by his IT teacher for having "games" on his system. I'm guessing it would have happened to many other people as well so they'll probably re-kerjigger it again...

Couldn't your friend just go to the IT teacher and explain what happened? The teacher could probably get his account unblocked.
