RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.
-SoulRiser
The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with.
My contact details are here.
Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Should we make a sockpuppet forum to attract less-radical allies?
For attracting potential allies who may be not ready to see what strange, abnormal and radical we really are.
Rules for all the forums: Little in-depth discussion, no criticism of capitalism, consumerism, proprietary software, corporationsm, no anarchism (!), no sexual discussions, no self-made artistic creations of too great quality, no swearing, no harrassment, use as much overused memes as possible.
Computers: This forum should only contain talks about Windows® and Mac OS X® problems and occasional appreciation for new gadgets. No Free Software discussion except maybe Firefox and LibreOffice. All the programming discussions must be limited to homework. And we should look like we are only using school-prescribed IDEs VisualStudio® or Delphi®.
Science/Mathematics and Technologies of the Future: No in-depth discussions. Should mostly consist of appreciation of popular articles in popular magazines.
Art: Only popular artists.
Movies, Video Games, Books: Discuss only popular movies/books/games, only proprietary games or very popular free games.
Music: Only popular artists/bands.
Emotional Discussions: No suicide threads.
This should be sockpuppet's forum motto: "We're people, we use products, we're normal, we don't think, we aren't interested in anything, we're dull and we're boring, we're people, PEOPLE, PEOPLE, we're just against school."

If you want to make that forum, by all means go ahead. Good luck. I'll add a link to it. But I'm not gonna make it.

I'm upset at you. I will have you know I am fairly intelligent for my age (this is based off my school, so I could be very thick), and that I have made many serious comments. I just add sarcasm, humor or my own brand of complete idiocy to the comment. LIVE WITH IT!

Congratulations humanity, because you refuse to let go of the old and evolve you actually make people believe in 2012. Not only that, but you're the only species on Earth that were able to make it possible, now we get to sit until we die because we couldn't get to Mars. We have failed as a society and don't deserve our gifts to survive for this long. Maybe this is why dinosaurs are extinct, we sure aren't any better than the dirt you say we're created from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla...DvwSOFto#!

We need to be taken more seriously. Well, being against school is already a reason not to take us seriously, but being radical in most other things will make normal people think: "It's just a stage, they'll grow out of it."
We need to look like people. PEOPLE. Normal people.
Again, this should be sockpuppet's forum motto: "We're people, we use products, we're normal, we don't think, we aren't interested in anything, we're dull and we're boring, we're people, PEOPLE, PEOPLE, we're just against school."

Why does it have to be a forum? Why not just make a blog and write some articles on it and sound all normal-ish and whatnot?

Because it's truth. Web 3.0 is coming, foreshadowing the shiny new world prescribed for us by the Global Government. Computers as we know them will be no more. Instead, there'll be locked-up computing devices for PEOPLE. They will only allow one thing - to browse the Web. Everything will be stored in the Cloud. And the only programming language available for mere mortals will be JavaScript, to be used with HTML5.

There are already a lot of them. The problem is, when normal people who read these actually try to contact anti-schoolers, what they see? A lot of radicals with ideas that seem totally utopian and outlandish for them. So they think it's just because they're young, "that's just a stage" and that we are not to be taken seriously.

Maybe link the forums with a site for news, YR stuff related to voting ages and such and less radical/badcopnodonut-type stuff.

RE: Should we make a sockpuppet forum to attract less-radical allies?
Why are we radicals? Everyone who isn't of the popular opinion has to be a radical. Why can't be just be people! WHY! Oh, and I shouldn't be allowed on this, except maybe to run a class on dealing with me and others similar. Or green
