RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

A father's rights before the baby is born.

The father has equal rights in regards to the child. I am sick of people saying the father has no rights or less rights. It annoys the fuck out of me. The father wants the baby (and is able to care for him/her) but the mom wants to abort? Too bad for the mom if she aborts it she gets charged with murder. Simple. Men should not be the only ones responsible for protected sex. If a women does NOT want a baby she should not expect the man to wear a condom that works. I am sick of feminists saying that oh women are equal and blah blah but when it comes to sex the man always loses. If a man gets a women pregnant and she wants the kid, she can have him pay child support for 18 years even if he doesn't want the child. If she doesn't want the child? She can abort it regardless of how much the father wants the child. God help the woman who does that to me.

RE: A father's rights before the baby is born.

Yeah its how it is in this Matriarchy.
Divorce courts are pretty much in favor of women, Police jump at a woman's command(even if its not true)., the law protects the identity of women in crimes while slandering men and women don't get held accountable for things that would destroy a mans career.
I tell ya its how it is.

Yeah fuck feminism, I'm all for equality, but feminism is now about female superiority.

RE: A father's rights before the baby is born.

That's a good point thar.

I don't want to ever get pregnant, so if I do ever end up having sex, I'll be sure to use at least 2 different kinds of protection, so even if one fails, there's still the other one... or just get myself permanently fixed beforehand. Razz

Anyone who doesn't want kids and doesn't want to take steps to prevent them from happening, is irresponsible and stupid. Regardless of gender.

One exception is if there's a chance having the baby will kill the mother, and she didn't know about the possibility of that happening before getting pregnant. But yeah, that's not what this is about.

You've got it all wrong. A man should have no say in what a woman does with her body, its hers not his, but a man shouldn't have to give her ANY $$$ at all.

The man doesn't own the woman's body, and the woman doesn't own the man as a working slave. End of story.

Too bad the zygote/fetus/embryo/etc. is half of the father's.

That argument is incredibly silly and when feminists use it they are just trying to be able to easily slip by their responsibilities. It ISN'T her body. It does live in her body and she is at least half the reason it is there in the first place (barring rape of course).

So it's a woman's 'responsibility' to carry the baby to term because the father wants it, but it's unfair for the man to have 'responsibility' for it if she wants it and he doesn't?

That's about all I need to know about this situation bro.

I never said it was unfair but it is hypocritical. A mom can so easily avoid all responsibility because well I guess because women are lesser than men. They can't handle the responsibility. Their brain just doesn't allow it.

Pretty much this.

I'd kill a women who aborted my baby. I always wear condoms. If it fails though and she didn't take any of her own precautions then that baby is going to live. I will not expect her to pay a dime (unlike many women) just to carry my baby to birth. She aborts it, she better hide.

RE: A father's rights before the baby is born.

I was into masculism for a while, and I can guarantee you that the vast majority of it is bullshit. What little oppression men suffer because of their gender is almost always coming from other men, and pales in comparison to the massive amounts oppression that women have to live with around the world.

Women deserve primary control of the baby because they're the ones getting up at three in the morning to puke their guts out. Their the ones who fucking CARRY IT, they're the ones who have to push it out of their vagina.

Also, I'm a man, just to clarify.

Yeah that definitely explains why in the overwhelming majority of animal species the female is the one who assumes responsibility for the offspring, nurtures it while sometimes protecting it from males (bears come to mind). And that includes apes, most primates in fact (whom we happen to be descended from).

Hey, I am not the one acting like you guys have no brain. Blame the feminists who insist on the males being the ones primarily responsible. They fuck without a condom? Doesn't matter if the women try to use a contraceptive, he is gonna be forced to pay 18 years child support if she deems it so. Maybe he fucks with a condom and she uses no contraceptive once again. If a baby is accidentally conceived she has all power over whether that zygote goes on to live or die. Too bad because she is too much of a pussy to carry a baby for 9 months.

Don't use animal comparisons here. For one thing we are very different in this regard. Another thing is so women get to keep their ultimate power over the child but men can't keep their power to fuck who they please? Do we want to go back to those days? Nope. I don't, I am a fan of equality or at least an equal chance (equal outcome if impossible).

Haha let's not forget how much better I can take care of kids myself than the majority of women. Babies included.

The pendulum has swung the other way or maybe it has always been that way in regards to child care. Oh no but feminists only care about advancing their sex, not equality. The days they sought equality are long gone.

Quote:What little oppression men suffer because of their gender is almost always coming from other men, and pales in comparison to the massive amounts oppression that women have to live with around the world.

Little oppression? Depends on what part of the world you are talking about. Saudi Arabia? Yes I am heavily inclined to agree. In America or many first world countries? Look at that family court systems and I DARE you to say "little oppression".

Oh boo fucking hoo. I'd carry my own baby in a god damn heartbeat if I was able to. Any person (man or woman) holding pregnancy and child birth over a man's head is sexist. If I had it my way, all she would have to do is carry it for 9 months, to balance that out let's say a man has to help pay for the baby for the first 3-4 years in the opposite scenario. Why more time than just 9 months? Because I know the difficulties a women has to go through during pregnancy and she can't work either... or shouldn't.

Hey, women to help during child birth how about NOT laying on your back legs in the air. Your baby is fighting against gravity and your vag is gonna deal with a whole lot more pain. Maybe if women did research instead of bitching about how they have to bring forth life into the world it would be a whole lot easier.

No. After the baby is born, I'm all for equal rights, but if the woman wants to get an abortion, the baby's in HER body, therefore it should be HER choice. The man doesn't have to carry around a parasite for nine months, so he has no rights. All he did was fuck the woman.

RE: A father's rights before the baby is born.

All I'm going to say is if you don't want a baby then use contraceptives. Cases of rape are more sensetive... although adoption at the very least should be considered if the women doesn't want the baby. I just don't think a living organism should be denied almost guaranteed life because of what some people did. Also, that fetus is essentially half the father and not just the mothers and I still think that nobody has ownership over it.

So you're saying she's a pussy even if she can't support it, or if she's too young, or...fuck it, you're making gigantic generalizations because some of the stuff you say has little to no basis in fact. And it's getting weirdly personal. No one's talking about YOU, Unschool, and your ability to care for a baby, just men and women in general.

Um, the woman has complete decision over what happens with her body. But I don't agree with the bullshit about how the man can be forced to be a father, even if it's just by giving some money.

If a man wants to have a baby, he can adopt or find a woman willing to carry one for him.

No it isn't her body you complete fucking moron. It is leeching off her body though. I'll give you that.

Yes it is. It is her body, and there is a baby in her body. Her body is her body, are you in denial? Nobody owns each other, everybody owns themselves. and too bad nobody cares what an gaybanian thinks anyway.

RE: A father's rights before the baby is born.

The baby's body isn't her body... but she isn't obligated to maintain the connection between her body and the baby's body.

Also, god, in the first trimester, the baby doesn't have thoughts or feelings or anything, so it doesn't matter morally.

This.

And also this:

Do these 2 things in a consistent manner, and this problem will never come up. Biggrin

You're a fucking psychopath.

You're showing your ignorance here. Pregnancy isn't just, like, uncomfortable or annoying. It's dangerous. And labor is even more dangerous. The majority of women experience vaginal tearing during labor. It's also possible for their vagina to be pushed out of their body, resulting in them bleeding to death.
If the woman you had sex with gets pregnant, why exactly do you need to keep that baby? You don't even know them. They don't have brains or feelings or thoughts for a long time in the pregnancy. It's not hurting the baby to kill them at that point; it's like killing a plant. And you can get another baby that, as far as you know, is the same. Because you never met that baby that got killed.
