To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

How to be Rebelnerd in 11 easy steps

1. Stop shaving or getting haircuts out of laziness, but when people ask you about it, say it's some sort of political statement.

2. Enjoy all the time saved doing laundry by simply not owning or wearing any white or light-colored clothing. Remember: camouflage is convenient.

3. Write books and never let anyone read them because you know deep down that there are some really shitty parts that should never see the light of an editor's desk lamp.

4. Look frequently up at the sky while walking because nobody else does, and you'll be the first person to see if something cool happens up there.

5. Creep around the waterfront at night dressed in camo, carrying a flashlight and knife, using the stars for navigation, and then wonder why people think you're strange.

6. Hate people until they prove themselves worthy of being liked, rather than the other way around.

7. Watch videos of people bump firing assault rifles on youtube and think its the coolest thing ever, then spend hours browsing ImpactGuns.com to prepare for the nanosecond that you move out of your parents' house.

8. Build your entire moral code around anarchy and chaos and react with surprise when you realize that most girls actually don't find that attractive. Who knew?

9. BE PARANOID. I cannot stress this enough. Cell phones are voluntary FBI tracking tags. Laser printers are the FBI's eyes in the office. That hot girl in the corner of the restaurant who's been staring at you all through dinner and blushing? FBI.

10. You can never read too much Kafka. Keep a collection of his short stories by your bedside lest your dreams become boring.

11. Compensate for small penis by adding unnecessary extra step to already self-indulgent list meme.
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.
