RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

THE SIMS

Sorry if there is already another topic on this game series. Anyone here a fan of the Sims games? Any kind, whether its the series on the PC, some games on the PS2, or the ones on the DS. The ones I've played are:

-Sims 2 (PC)
-Sims 3 (PC)
-Sims Bustin' Out (PS2)
-Sims: Urbz in the City (both PS2 and DS)
-My Sims (DS)

I am a crazy fan, though I haven't had time to play them in a while. I admit, though, I like to do twisted things to my Sims. Come on, what's the fun if they're all so perfect all the time? Fu Feel free to discuss the games here.

Re: THE SIMS

Got a pirated version of the sims 3.
It's okay for a while, but not really my thing.

Also, I married a ghost on my last file, because ghosts are sexy.

Needs a hitler mustache. Before I ran out of HD Space and removed it I made two opposing cults in my neighbourhood and had them beat the shit out of each other. Good times.

This game is awesome for the sick shit you can do in it. Sadly, most airhead fangirls won't even think of it.

Problem, officer?

Re: THE SIMS

I'm kind of addicted to it. Once I start playing a family I can't stop. I've never gotten very far with my families. I always start another new neighborhood before my original families' children go to college. Unfortunately, my computer is completely out of memory. >= I've played The Sims and have all of the expansion packs for it, and I also have The Sims 2 and all of its expansion packs except Apartment Life.

Re: THE SIMS

The ORIGINAL 'The Sims' was more my thing, I had every expansion pack except for 'Hot date' because my Mom didn't 'approve' of it back then. (Note: This is the same Mom who let's me play dating Sims and draw epic boobage.) the Sims 2 is also a great one. I have pets, open for business and family fun pack for it and I tend to go from 'Not playing at all' to 'Must play Sims, need more content ahahaha' and back again. Makin' Magic was my favourite, ever. EVER!

I remember when I first got the Sims and made my family, my Dad was a zombie, Mom and Joe were dead and I was stuck cleaning up all the ashes by the end of day one...

In the Sims 3 (I forgot about Sims 2) You can bame skin color green, so I made a Witch, Hunter, Boomer (many lulz were had), Tank, and Spitter.

Laugh

Oh, and in my game, a car glitched and it ran into a bench, it's been stuck there for days. Oh yea, and it hit a chav, and now he's been stuck there, I'm just waiting for him to die of starvation.

I made my family, and my dad got electrocuted. Biggrin Oh, and I think my brother's gay... but I don't know.

I've always wanted to make an epic length family tree.

Re: THE SIMS

HAHA I love that game Razz

Ive played the original, ps2 original, sims 2, sims 3, allmost all expansions, too. I basically like my character to a perfect life and a bunch of stuff that happens around it, into an Anarchist community.

Ive played bustin out, urbz, urbz ps2...and thats about it.

TRIGGER WARNING: THIS TRIGGER WARNING CONTAINS TRIGGER WARNINGS!

Dear Tumblrites: Despite your wrongly self-diagnosed PTSD, no line of scientific evidence suggests people can be triggered over the internet. Triggering works through the senses (i.e. smell, taste, touch, vision, hearing.) but it goes through real time; if you're not experiencing it in real life as it's ACTUALLY HAPPENING in your ACTUAL life, you CANNOT be triggered. The only exception to this is if you have a seizure, but then again, that's triggered by epilepsy (i.e. rapidly-changing flashing lights) NOT PTSD. Remembering a bad incident is NOT the same thing as having a flashback. When you remember, you think; when you flashback, you feel.

Re: THE SIMS

yup I played sims 2 and 3.

I love making tons of sexy girlies in one town and killing all the males except my main who I make jobless just going around eating leftovers from the park grill and sleeping at random peoples houses who ends up impregnating the whole town.

until generation three where the game dies because generation 2 cant do romance whith anyone because they're half brothers and sisters.

I was dissapointed that skin tones from interracial couples were only black or white and not mixed colour.

That's true. I've downloaded Sims created by other users to get Asians and Indians and Hispanics. Anyway, I also don't like that there can't be incest, teen pregnancy, and little kid romances. I know these aren't good things, but it would add some realism.

Has anyone had a male in the Sims 2 abducted by aliens only to have him returned pregnant? I want to know if it's true.

Re: THE SIMS

Played a couple of times at Hanny's. I tend to make the people (that's the bit i like) then half make the house, only to get it demolished and made by Hanny, so i can make them do stuff. It's brilliant.

I also have Sims castaway for DS - though fuck knows what my Sim is up to right now, haven't played it properly in forever.

Re: THE SIMS

I have an entire family of kleptomaniacs. But the thing that annoys me is the curfew... the kid wants to steal shit, but can't be outside after dark for very long at all. I can't even MAKE him stay out past curfew... Stupid game Razz

Then I started a new game with two people who are both going to somehow make money without having jobs at all... but then I kinda stopped playing for some reason.

Re: THE SIMS

SoulRiser Wrote:I have an entire family of kleptomaniacs.

That's what I hate about Sims 3. What works for me is making my teen spend time in the graveyard and hoping the cops won't find her.

And is it just me, or is it when you want to use a neighbor's toilet or when the neighbor invites your Sim to sleep over in Sims 3, someone in the household will say your Sim is acting inappropriately?

Re: THE SIMS

Yea! Like when you go to grab a snack while you're spending the night. It's like, fuck dude! What am I supposed to eat then?

I remember my sims were homeless, and they slept on the park bench while the girl played the guitar for tips, and the guy went to work while I built their house piece by piece. It was the best sims experience ever, it was epically fun.
