The Collegiate Tribes

Gather around kids. It's time to listen to a special story about how humanity once was.

Long ago in human history there existed many tribes based on educating those who recently entered adulthood. By passing the rite of passage, which was hours long and strained the mental strength of those who tried it, and proving their abilities they could then apply to these tribes. Some would not do as well, and suffered the unfortunate consequences. These were known as "colleges" or "collegiate tribes"

Of these many collegiate tribes a coalition known as the "4th League" or "IV Leauge" in Roman numerals as some pronounced it back then was the most powerful. Many collegiate tribes in this land were given assistance by the Grand Chieftains of the ruling tribes, who held power over the land. Some examples of these tribes would be the Cali, the Yorkers, and the Texans.

There was also the Grand Seer and the Oracles who controlled all the land. Their collective group was known as the Fed because of how the tribes under them would feed them the wealth and manpower they needed.

None of the 4th League relied on the Fed or the ruling tribes. They considered themselves unique. Interestingly enough those within the 4th League would always compete with one another for members. Every year, new tribals were initiated into their tribes.

While many back then believed these 4th League tribes were the best, we now believe that they actually had very little difference with many of the other collegiate tribes. Their greatest factor came from their strong tribal identity which caused others to respond with awe. We believe the fall of these 4th League tribes came from their hubris.

It's all grade inflation anyway; make tests easier to pass to make it look like their ranks are full of geniuses.

These tribes have alose been known to restrict accessibility for new members through nothing but sheer competitve interest. If the Yael decided to cut down to 7% acceptance, the Harvird would go down to 6% to argue they were the better tribe.

In the end, many suffered becoming tribeless wanderers or shunned for being of a lower tribe.
