there are different aspects of intelligence, iq tests mostly focus on pattern recognition. but some some also include spatial reasoning and memory, and i think combining all these things into one single number doesn't make sense.

and you can't measure something that isn't even clearly defined. iq tests measure iq, not "intelligence"

148 is way up there. I think most of the posts here are being overly dismissive of how much potential comes with an IQ that high. Human intelligence may be impossible to quantify with direct precision but you don't score 148 without some serious gray matter. That kind of potential is rare and precious. Do something with it.

Like a few others here I don't think it's possible something as simple as a test can measure something as complex as intelligence.

Actually looking back at it, IQ and Grades are even less correlated than I knew back then. Grades are based on a number of factors such as tests, homework assignments, attendance, etc, which I seriously doubt are the hallmarks of measuring one's intelligence.

Actually I've found out that you can inherently inflate and bullshit your grades. The issue isn't so much being smart or understanding the subject (the internet is a thing and even without it, it's actually really easy to bullshit the subject anyway if you know what you're doing), it's how much work you do but also how you're perceived.

School ain't a place for learning.

theCancer, that sounded way too teachery and stupid. Do you realized what you did? You arbitrarily set some vague standards and then heavily emphasized that he should meet them, or otherwise his rare preciousness is by implication wasted.

Humans don't in any way benefit from being told about how they are special snowflakes. Humans benefit from being told about how their dad got freaky with their mom one day (at least) and hopefully they both took showers afterwards...

Let people be themselves and let THEM define what that is. That's what you teachers try to do, you want to manipulate other people's destinies.
