Considering the fact pedophilia is defined as sexual interest in prepubescent youth, and that historically a girl was considered a women as soon as she hit puberty, I don't see it as problematic.

Then again society has a habit of ignoring logic and being well-aware that they're wrong and still insist their correct even without a logical backing(because they simply "will it" to be)

The fact remains that young people, particularly those around say, less than fifteen years of age, are not anywhere near as socially, emotionally or sexually aware as someone older than they are, which means that they require some level of protection against people who wish to abuse their lack of ability to give informed consent, in the same manner that someone slurring their words from drunkenness is no longer as able as a sober person to give consent.

I hold that my actions concerning sex have been entirely moral, but they were only moral because I was in the same mental framework as the other people involved.

There is, of course, a limit to this, but it is not black and white. Society is not currently capable of accounting for all variables, so it legislates on the side of caution to protect it's most vulnerable.

Could this awareness simply not be because of the supposed pretense that adults must "protect" them not through educating, but taking the responsibility upon themselves while keeping them in the dark? Without cooperation, there will always exist a lack of awareness because someone else will try to assume the responsibility. While this is an "honorable" action, it's quite stupid because one should never take total responsibility over something that directly affects another persons life without sharing their own knowledge to promote awareness.

And oddly in the case of those drunken, there is a lack of anyone to protect them by assuming responsibility because those around that person have never shared the responsibility because someone else most likely took it upon themselves. How can one learn to do something, if someone else does it for you. Sometimes protection does nothing but weaken.

And society may legislate on the side of caution, but titling someone a pedophile(which is defined as a psychiatric disorder, as having interest in pre-pubescent as I've mentioned) for having relations with a person who has already gone through puberty is simplistic and totally inaccurate. People also tend to confuse statutory rape for actual rape, as statutory rape may simply be a usually legal sexual relationship but with the added variable of possessing different level of authority, with one side holding a position of power over the other(teacher-student for example). So while the sex may have been legal, it suddenly becomes "rape" simply based on the occupation of one of the people involved in the relationship.
