RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

ESPECIALLY in this economy. Even if it pays less than it should. Dunno if I'd really like working in fast food though, so I'm thankful I have other potential options.

oh and also No one has any rights. We're free, rights create invisible restrictions. But we live in a society where the majority accepts rights to be true.

I wouldn't mind working in fast food for a starting job.
I also wouldn't mind working a sex related job. Those seem to pay tons of money. Though I'd never be hired. xD
I wonder what it would be like to sell meth like Heisenberg...(I wouldn't do that as a job though)
Realistically, I'd probably do something gardening related(once I learn) or be a camp counselor.
I hope I can start off doing something involving coding(once I learn), animation, or art.
Or learning superhuman abilities that'll make me completely self sustaining (or just live kinda off grid).
Alright universe, I set the intention. MAKE IT HAPPENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

good news: you can begin learning right now! i mean it might be difficult for gardening if you live in the city or w/e or simply don't have any money to spare but there's a fuck tonne of resources for learning coding on your own.

We were in global and my teacher noticed some writing on a desk. It said fuck school. Sure the student shouldn't have wrote on the desk (According to the school at least) and then the teacher said to my other teacher "Haha this kid will have fun working at McDonald's for the rest of his life" You do not know that kid. Maybe he/she even has terrific grades and still just hates school? and sure, maybe not. Just because the person hates school does not mean he is going to end up a bum or someone with a bad job. Just look at Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, Walt Disney. All dropped out of high school to pursue their dreams. Yes its not likely you will end up like them but I know many fine people with great jobs who did not finish high school. I'm just sick or being called stupid or other people being called stupid because of this damn stereotype.
Yes You are correct, it also doesn't mean working at McDonalds that you are a loser, its a good start also to gain experience how works goes. Teachers with that kind of mentality will not ascend to better place.
