I think so. It started out in early 1900s from just like a barely more intense version of mischief night.(buildings were egged and coated in toilet paper, mailboxes were burned, rocks were thrown, bags of poo were burned, ect). Then it progressed over time to the occassional burning, and then in the 1970s they began to burn fully occupied buildings like nuts. There have been nearly 1,000 reported ones a few years ago, but about half the fires at least in highland park arent repored to higher authorities. This year the fires pitfalled to only 91 REPORTED fires. This year, nearly all the fires in highland park werent reported tothe rest or detroit, dont know about the other parts. And the government brags about how safe it is here and that detroit would turn into a half decent city again, but the truth is, there is nothing left to burn, it all got burnt already. A few fires have been filmed and put on you tube by some moronically brave people, and although this ipod wont let me watch the videos, the screenshot it let me see looked like it was real footage of a small fire (the larger fires generally explode during the burning). There are suspicions about it being just black people doing the burning, but I dont believe it. About 95% of highland parks population is black, so obviously there will be more black people participating, as they are the majority here. People just burn for no fuckin reason.
