RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Re: The Maturity Climb
It's so true, everything in this pic. I've known some people where everything in the... I guess immature section, applied. It's sad, really. Some people act like that their entire lives, and die sad.
RIP GORE GOROTH

Re: The Maturity Climb
Nice pic. Kinda reminds me of this one anti-school site I often visit, where there are all these guys who keeping saying things like "life is hopeless" and "all humans are stupid and deserve to die" without ever even considering the possibility of hope because it doesn't fit into their self-created narrative where they're the only ones smart enough to be above it all.
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.

Re: The Maturity Climb
Very, very nice. It's kind of sad, that people still act that way. This should be common sense.

Was that some kind of stab rebelnerd?
I don't think all humans are stupid and I don't consider myself as some kind of god(I'm pretty stupid myself) but you can admit numbers could be trimmed down a bit.
Besides hope itself is a naive ideal that someone pulls out when they don't want to face the reality and want to create a more positive narrative for themselves.
But the trimming can wait as humanity provides me with alot of entertainment that makes everyday a treasure such as this.
kids throw rocks at car... get hit by car - LOL Instant Karma http://uselessjunk.com/article_full.php?id=114827
Best thing about this... when you replay the video - they get hit every time!
Anyway cycles come and go and lives and conflicts repeat so its best to just get some enjoyment out of life in any way you can as the world will never be perfect and any problem that will come is doomed to come back.
Many parts of suffering come from us making life more complicated than its suppose to be.

Re: The Maturity Climb
Blaming yourself for the world is a good and mature thing? Huh?
But yeah, I fully agree with Rebelnerd, people need to cheer up a little here every now and then.
Let go of all desire for the common good, and the good becomes common as grass.

There is a chinese saying that goes, "The outside world, is as the inside world." In other words, your perceptions are reality. Instead of just pointing the finger away from yourself, accept things for what they are, and accept the decisions you've made, and move on.

I'm the yellow goat, mostly. Sometimes the green goat, other times, the red goat.

Re: The Maturity Climb
Saved. I know a lot of people in the red, a few in the white, and one or two in the green. I'd say that I'm generally in the white, occasionally dipping into green and red.

You're a pretty funny guy.
If you have another anti school site with these kind of people could you give me a link?
These people sound like they would be fun to mess with.

Re: The Maturity Climb
Let's not forget that each color has more than one goat, and the further you get from the top of the mountain, the less mature you are and vice versa.
Either way, I can't get over the fact that you are all goats. That explains everything.

Re: The Maturity Climb
Epic win pic. *goes to repost in various places*
Mostly I'm one of those inbetween goats. Sometimes I can be green or red too. I know more red ones than green ones, but I do know a few inbetweeners too.
Quote:If you say you're a green goat then you're a red goat.
because the green goat feels he knows nothing
while the red goat feels he knows everything.
Kinda true actually.
But I think not always. I suppose it does seem a bit arrogant to say you're mature even if you actually are. But being overly concerned with seeming arrogant is no reason to avoid saying something that's true (as long as it actually is).
