RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Post good movies

Post a TRAILER(because I'm lazy and can't be assed googling it) of a movie/s that you really really enjoyed and would give a rating of over 8/10.

Post anything you like but I would prefer adventure movies because I'm in an adventurous mood. Now get to work.

1)WRATH OF THE TITANS
Just saw this today. I expected it to be shit but it was good.

2)INCEPTION

3)THE MATRIX

4)THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

5)TRON:LEGACY

6)RESIDENT EVIL

I have way better movies but they're not adventure. Most of these are awesome though.

Posting from the mobile so no trailers bit I would highly recomend King Kong for an adventure film.

RE: Post good movies

Well I know quite a bit of Asian movies (Hollywood is too fluffy 4 me) some are pretty messed up... Let me know if you want to be messed up
In the mean time there's Eragon featuring bad actors worse dialog and awful story line like a rip off of some more well known trilogy, or yo might want to check out Our Lips are Sealed or Passport to Paris both featuring the Olsen twins which my lil sis keeps replaying everyday since the holiday started... really speaks for itself...

Lol Eragon "First of a trilogy" yeah except you haven't made one in 6 years and there are 4 books.

Aha you lost me there, I meant that it feels like a rip off, cheap remake of the LOTR.

Oh riight ahaha. What a bunch of mullets. Good thing they didn't do that with harry potter. LOL Rowling would throw a tantrum "so you don't want me to write anymore maybe I won't then, its my baby so I can take him home and lock him up in a closet if I wish so." The writer of Eragon, Paolini was really young apparently I bet they expected he would go crazy at some party and overdose on cat litter, thus not finishing the books. That or they couldn't read that drivel past the first book. Cuckoo

RE: Post good movies

Hell yeah. Drive was pretty fucking good, Always liked the 5th element.
Also, I just watched Good Burger last night... Fucking weird dude.

As for my recommendations

Apocalypse Now: One of my favorite movies ever. The longest version (Redux Version) is 3 hours long. It's based on Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" but set in Vietnam. Actually a better time and place for the story than the book in my opinion. Anyway, I recommend you don't watch the whole trailer, I dunno what it is about old movie trailers but they just love to give everything away.

Watch on YouTube

CRASH: really good movie. Serious but lots of funny moments.

Watch on YouTube

Smiley Face: Good stoner movie. The trailer was gay and actually gave away alot of the movie plot for some reason so this is the opening scene. Fucking hilarious. Anna Faris does an amazing job.

Watch on YouTube

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: Amazing, twisted and ultimately pointless movie.
Again with the trailer being crappy and giving things away. Heres the opening scene,

Watch on YouTube

Blade Runner: Really shitty trailer and honestly the movie can be a little hard to watch. Not sure why but it's still an amazing movie nonetheless.

Watch on YouTube

Taxi Driver: Scorsese at his best. Really good cult film.

Watch on YouTube

Clerks: 90's classic, If you haven't seen this... fuck you

Watch on YouTube

Suburbia and SLC punk. Obviously both punk movies. I'm grouping these two together because I find that you either like or dislike them, and depending what your opinion is of the first is, it will be the same for the second. First is better than the latter; The latter often criticized for selling out.

Haha I haven't seen that movie in ages. If you like that you should definitely watch clerks. It's made by the same guy; Kevin Smith.
He also made Mallrats and Clerks II
Both have Jay and Silent bob as minor characters

I also forgot to add, the 5th element is nice. I saw most of it and it was alright.

This sounds like a great movie. I suggest The Elephant's Protector
