RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.
Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.
oh god yes I've been waiting for someone to do something like this
EA PRESENTS ME3 WITH THE BEST GAME STORY EVAR IN ANY VIDEO GAME, DIRECTED BY MICHAEL BAY
*day 1 dlc required to experience the whole story
"When government surveillance and intimidation is called "freedom from terrorism" or "liberation from crime," freedom and liberty have become words without meanings." - Deus Ex
Mass Effect fans are the worst. I went on Ign to read reviews, and on the comments of the three games I looked at there was a bunch of Mass Effect fanboys saying "Mass Effect 3 is way better than this game." Before mass effect 3 came out. Here is the games where these comments were found:
Skyrim: An open world fantasy RPG.
Twisted Metal: A car combat multiplayer-centric game.
SSX: A SNOWBOARDING GAME!
who goes around comparing a scifi action RPG with a snowboarding game wtf?
LOL COMMANDER SHEPARD IS THE MOST CREATIVE PROTAGONIST HE IS A SPACE MARINE WITH SHORT HAIRCUT AND A NAME LIKE SHEPARD IS SO INVENTIVE AND NOT CLICHE AT ALL MASS EFFECT IS THE BEST

Lmao!
Basically boils down to this..
If you enjoy Gears of War type rail cover shooters then you'll like ME3.
If you enjoy rpgs you won't like ME3.
If you enjoy a mix of both you probably still won't like ME3.
"Yeah, Shepard. I lost my husband."
"That's really too bad, Cortez."
"Yeah, it is. But if I hadn't....... LOST.... him, I would probably never have met you, Commander..."
"Wait a minute, Cortez. What are you saying?"
"I'm saying I want you to COURT my ASS, Commander."
"Oh, Cortez..."
I've only played the first game, but I really don't understand why you guys are giving it so much hate when probably none of you have played it yet. The day 1 DLC sounds shitty.. but is it because of what Bioware does with it's sequels? The overcorporatization of the game by EA?

Also played ME 1 and 2 and the 3rd demo, which reeks of trying too hard to be emotional.
ME 2 gave users a bunch of free DLC in exchange for an online pass that was included with the regular retail game.
Now EA goes and whips Bioware until they make every DLC for ME3 cost a crapload and be almost 100% essential to the game's story. There's evidence that beta versions before the final release of ME3 included some of this DLC.

I don't get Bioware's obsession with making half the universe gay, and then having that half of the universe rub it in your face. Surely it would be better to do it like they did in Fallout NV where there were gay people but you didn't know they were gay until you worked that out.

oh wait TOLERANCE etc
Bioware are trying to appeal to demographs such as homosexuals(gonna piss them off instead) and yaoi fan girls who came on board from dragon age 2.
Also obsidian did fallout new vegas's writing and they are better writers than bioware who only can make somebodies homosexuality their whole identity(still remember when I found out Jackson at the post was gay due to a perk).
Stadium:I may not even torrent this shit man.
With the rpg elements gassed, and just a straight up shooter I think I'll go to my cousins house and play halo or something because even that is a better shooter than mass effect.

Herp derp space marine run. Oh, and did you guys notice, but it seemed like that giant laser in the background wasn't actually doing any damage. It only sweeped back and forth a bit.
