RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

You're making me cringe...I used to play Battlefield 2 and it was the greatest game ever, I mean you got to fly shit and drive shit. I used to be a pro pilot. But my computer wont support battlefield 3
I love BF3, got it on 360. I love jets. Problem is there is a huge learning curve. Most people already have many upgrades for the jets. I can fight in dog fights well enough but then some fag on the ground locks onto me with his Stinger. One shot and the jet is done.
I got the flares, but I seem to get shot at by multiple people at once and there's jsut soooo much madness going on and AAARGH GOING DOWN! ... hmm. Sometimes I have better luck with choppers, kinda easier to take cover behind buildings with those.

I can't stand not playing hardcore. It's frustrating on normal when you put like 4 pistol bullets into someone and they just run up and knife you. I just like a nice, clean, 1 shot.

BAs can OHK if they hit the head and that is it. I have found though that if I scout the MCOM stations enemies always have enough damage so that when I snipe them they die.
I got my flares and in the same match I got heat seekers too for my Jets. I are happy.

It's pretty awesome. I got it for ps3. Although due to school I've only played like 1 hour online. My favorite so far is assault now that I can revive people.
I also like the RU side alot better in terms of infantry. But US is better with vehicles. Imo.
Computer can't run bf3. I love bf2, I still play it all the time, Sooo pissed. The only thing I need is a new graphics card, everything else is fine except my shitty 5 year old video card.
Oh dear god, I hope that my dad doesn't get me MW3 for my birthday. Last year he got me a PS3 and shit for Christmas even though I never hinted at wanting one and I never said I wanted one, all mainly because I didn't want one. I would have much rather taken the dosh it took him to buy all that junk than what he bought.

I don't even have to play MW3 to know BF3 blows it out of the water. It's just a recycled MW2. I probably will end up getting it though, I always do. It's still a nice aracdey type shooter for when you wanna be lone wolf.

fixed
BF actually takes skill, You can't level up and get good guns if you suck at slower paced, longer distance shooting games which is what BF is. MWF is a close up fast paced almost arcade style of gameplay.
That's why I prefer BF.

Funny thing is a reviewer on twitter said that MW3 felt like it was old and recycled and got his review pulled.
Somebody took a screencap though I can't find it.

MW3 has been getting low ratings on Metacritic. A MW3 dev told "fans" of the game to go help boost the score.
OK, so BF3 actually looks pretty good. Few questions though.
I've heard it's more slow-paced and cautious than bland, repackaged shit like MW(3). Is it like STALKER where if you make one wrong move you're gonna wind up with a cloud of shrapnel instead of a face?
Does it include more than the standard lineup of guns (M4, M16, AK, Uzi, M14, RPG, and not much else)?
Is there Flecktarn, and if so, does anyone use it? I'm a massive camouflage hipster.
How do the vehicles work exactly?
Is there any strategy or do people just walk around shooting whoever isn't wearing their uniform?

It can be slow-paced and fast-paced, depending on where you are at what time. You could be behind enemy lines as recon spotting enemy positions hidden with 5 enemies arround your building without them having a clue you're on the roof or upstairs. And if one of them comes up, nothing like a silenced pistol to the head won't take care of him.
There is a huge range of guns, there's plenty of guns for plenty of purposes. You can get russian weapons and american weapons.
Vehicles work like a dream. Tanks are fun, you control speed, what mode you're firing in, what rounds you're firing and you can even pop smoke to get out of enemy vision. Tanks can be manned by 6 people as well. There are also things like jets, helicopters which are all optimised for air combat, flares, heat seekers and the like. You all have parachutes so you can bail if you need to. There's also boats... jeeps... anti-air guns and turrets.
BF3 is strategy. Without strategic combat you will probably end up facerolled by enemy engineers with their tanks before you can say "I'm gonna drop that bitch".
