RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

2012 Republican candidates

So, there's been loads of talk, arguments, n' shit over the Republican field vying for the nomination in 2012. ITT: We discuss them.

My views:

Mitt Romney: Slicker than butter without being sleazy, Mitt certainly knows what he's doing, is pretty sane and doesn't seem anywhere near as radical as some. Still, since he's been in bed with WWASP for some time, I'd hate to see him on the ticket.

Rick Parry: Basically W Bush v2.0. A somewhat aggressive career politician but he doesn't seem like all that good of one. Not much to say here. Seems to resonate well with the sort of crowd that liked W and his views, for obvious reasons.

Ron Paul: I don't agree with him on a lot of stuff, namely completely eliminating taxes and much of the federal government, but he seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders and I definitely stand with him on reducing our bloated defense budget to actual defense instead of micromanaging every country under the sun. I kinda wish he'd win just to see how everyone would react, lol.

Rick Santorum: Doesn't seem to know a whole lot about government at the federal level. Anti-gay like his life depends on it. I'm ashamed to share the same state as him.

Newt Gingrich: He seems kinda stuck in the '90s. Good if you're trying to relive your childhood, bad if you're trying to get on the presidential ballot. Also doesn't seem nearly as radical as, well, the radical ones in the field. Not a whole lot to say here.

Herman Cain: A business man, not a politician. Good in that he's not a complete and utter professional liar, bad in that he doesn't understand how complicated shit can get. You can't just say 9-9-9, turn the taxes to that overnight and have everything be wonderful. Cain also doesn't really seem to understand foreign policy an' that sorta stuff. Also, you can't go titty fiddling to random women and expect to get away with it. LOLDONE

Jon Huntsman: Sane, moderate-ish, and relatively reasonable. Seems to have a pretty good understanding of stuff. Has no chance of getting the nomination, though.

Michele Bachmann: Fucking insane religious nutjob. 'Nuff said.

Newt Gingrich isn't radical as in Right vs Left, but although most people don't know it, he believes in Toffler's ideas(our current form of Capitalism dying off, possible changes in the government to make it more democratic, small/local business replacing big business in a lot of fields, rise big business made out of small businesses working together, etc)

Also he is half-secretly an environmentalist

I'd have to go with Ron Paul as president, and either Cain, Santorum, or Bachmann as VP, in that order

As it stands now Romney will get the nomination. He's raised the most, and despite all the debates he always seems to come out on a level field.
Can't say I'm an adoring fan but he's better than Herman Cain and his retarded fucking 999 plan or Perry and his plan to eliminate 40% of the budget and ruin the fucking economy.
Also, Who the fuck wants a frothy byproduct of anal sex as their president. Just sayin...

Bachmann is the most mentally unstable person I've ever seen in my entire life. Having someone worse than Palin one step away from the President is a tremendous no-no.

Ron Paul for President. He should pick Gary Johnson for his VP. We should have had Pelosi impeach Bush so the GOP can nominate someone to be president like they did in the 1970's with Gerald Ford. I think Mccain for 6 years and then handing it off to Ron Paul since Mccain would be up since he would had finished Bush's term.

I just came in here to post about Gary Johnson. You should look in to him OP, not that he has a Polar Bear's chance in hell of winning.

Bacchman,Cain,Hunstman and Santorum should drop. Let Gingrich,Romney,Perry and Paul slug it out. I supported Rick Perry (2nd choice besides Ron Paul) but I reversed my feelings for him because of the idiotic things he said for the past debates (magnets for illegals,Texas has a deficit of 25 billion,SS=ponzi scheme, saying Romney hired illegals, open to amnesty, etc), Newt, unlike Nancy, can impeach but him being a consultant for Fannie/Freddie might hurt him . So, between Ron Paul and Romney probably. I could see Romney picking up Michigan,Utah,Massachusetts,New Jersey,Idaho and a couple other states and I see Ron Paul picking up the west coast,Texas, the Dakotas,Nevada, the south,Ohio,Iowa,Indiana,Tennessee,Kentucky and a majority of the states and getting the nomination. Gingrich I think might get Georgia and a few others and Perry I think will drop out.

RE: 2012 Republican candidates

I think the republican party is so dissapointed in the selection, that Ron Paul stands a sizable chance of winning the primarys. With Cain out of the picture, its come down to Romney and... Gingrich. Both of whom are flops, and the whole republican party knows it. Cain, although a fucking moron, at least held the same values of most of the shitarded party. Now Gingrich is trying to pick up the Cain crowd, but sadly his campain will inevitably collapse on itself, and most of the repulicans will be so frustrated they wont even vote. Then Paul fans have the primary all to themselves to fuck shit up.

this of course, is assuming poor Paul wont have a "car accident" or "sudden heart failure". Crazy you say? Well, Tracy Lawrence, a woman subpoenaed by Ron Paul to testify before congress was "suicided" just five days ago, right before she was supposed to expose a foreclosure fraud. "Detectives" claim she must have killed herself out of stress from a potential jail sentence... but the maximum time she could be put in jail for exposing the files was a year. At most. I don't buy it for a second, but I'll let you all decide.

Frankly, I would not put it past the Obama administration at all to kill or utterly ruin Ron Paul. Especially now that they are bumping off American citizens Mafia style without even trying to cover it up.

A Ron Paul presidency will undoubtedly lead to:
1. A speeding up of the inevitable EU collapse, This is bad for Obama and the EU because they want it to smolder slowly and rake as much cash out as they can before it fractures
2. Give China a 4 year opportunity to fill the power gap. Bad news: If they do what America did for so long, they will free the shit out of oil filled countries "suffering american oppression", killing more poor people in the region. Good news: China's economy out of fucking control and trying this would lead to a swift and brutal economic collapse
3. Israel would no longer have its backup. This is the only thing that scares me about a Ron Paul presidency. I hate Israel, but we gave these fuckers nuclear weapons in an area where everyone wants them dead, and because they have big brother to back them up, they occupy, seize, and imprison vast areas and peoples willy nilly. So when we leave, everyone will want them fucking dead, and wont give them time for another preemptive strike. Israel WOULD get its ass kicked and would not for ONE SECOND hesitate to turn the middle east into the Irradiated Crescent

Another disaster caused by the neo-cons sucking the Israel tit. This shits gotta happen one way or another. Without American taxpayer money, Israel wouldn't exist. If Ron Paul doesn't stop the money going there, then America will economically collapse and the same thing happens anyway. Either way, dem Jews gonna run out of money sooner or later. *Irony overload*
