Let me get this straight: you have an old car you don't need. Instead of giving it to your son, who doesn't even own a car of his own, you give it to your friend, who already owns three cars? Are you fucking kidding me?

It's not like I want a car as a status symbol. I actually need this. Right now, the only car I'm allowed to use is my dad's, and I'm only allowed to use it when he's not using it, and he's practically using it all the time. What if I forgot something important in my locker at school, and I needed to go back and get it? I can't go back. My mom's too fucking lazy to drive me, and she's too fucking selfish to let me use her car. My dad's out doing whatever the fuck he wants to do, so I have no mode of transportation. This has happened before.

Just now, the light meter on my camera broke. I need to go get a new light meter. But because my dad is out golfing, I can't use his car. My mom doesn't want to take me, because she's busy watching TV or cooking or whatever. And she says she doesn't want me to drive her car, because she's afraid I'll crash it. What the fuck.

And less importantly, I'm honestly the only person I know who didn't get a car for his 16th birthday. It's really, really embarrassing when you're the only guy in school who doesn't own his own car. Kids at my school are getting fucking brand-new BMWs, Saabs, and even fucking Ferraris, while my parents fucking suck and won't even give me their old SUV, instead choosing to give it to their friend who doesn't need it. I don't even care what kind of car I get, as long as it won't fall apart every five seconds.

I still can't fucking believe it. My mom gets a new SUV, rendering her old one useless. I - someone who actually needs a car - volunteer to take it, but instead, my mom gives it to her friend, who already owns three cars. This is fucking bullshit.

This is going to cause a shitload of problems. How will I get to college? Have my parents drive me? I'm going to have to move a lot of stuff in my room to my dorm. Without a car, how am I supposed to carry all of my stuff? I've got a 50-pound computer, a desk, and a dresser I'm going to have to move somehow. There's no way I can take this on a plane.

And if I get a job, I won't be able to get to work. I'll have to bike. What if my job is too far away for me to bike there? Am I supposed to take a cab or a train? A cab is fiscally irresponsible. A train isn't guaranteed to stop in the town my job is in. I'll be fired as quickly as I'm hired.

I talked to my dad about that last scenario. He said I'll most likely have to take a cab. That's smart - instead of free transportation (sans gas costs) by giving me an old SUV nobody needs, I'll have to take a cab that'll cost $7 every trip. That's $14 a day, meaning every week I'll be spending $70 just for transportation alone.

I don't even car what kind of car I get. I'd be happy with anything that doesn't constantly fall apart. My mom's SUV is from 2001. I don't care what kind of car it is, as long as I'm able to drive it.

And they say I'm selfish.

EDIT: Also, having to have your mom drive you around even though you have a license is extremely embarrassing.

Everyone has cars. Wow, you people are all spoiled brats. Why do your parents need so many cars in the first place? America sucks ass.
