RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.
-SoulRiser

Re: Why was your day great?
I didn't have work today. I had 0 sleep last night and then travelled 1 hour at 5 am only to realise I didn't have work, which was a massive relief and I came back and slept in until 2 pm.

I just use an old waist tightener thing and move it upwards a couple inches then use a tight sports bra and put it on so the tightest part of it (Bottom seam, I guess?) is about mid breast which presses that area down more so I look manly.
Though I've seen some really nice ones online for about 20-40bucks which should be pretty easy to find, I think. Wish I could be of more help.

Re: Why was your day great?
Today I recieved my mock results and practically all of them were C
In Englandland, this is quite good. Grading goes like this
(Foundation Grades)
U - Lowest
G
F
E
D
-----------------------------
C
B
A
A* - Highest
(Higher Grades)
If you get 5 C's to A*'s at GCSE level, you can do anything you want when you leave school. But the major reason I am happy with this is that I did no revision whatsoever and I still got C whereas some people with lower grades did fucktons of revision and got lower grades so

Re: Why was your day great?
I had an audition for a play today and the person had me stand in for a lead role during auditions, so I'm sort of feeling a bit of luck in the air. Plus if I get the lead I have to dye my hair black, which means when I put it up boy-style I will look like ALL THREE of my brothers. (My bro, my big bro, and my adorable bro.) at school, as they all have dark hair.

Re: Why was your day great?
My teachers piled so much work up for me, that I was actually overjoyed at the thought of having to engage myself.
Although, it will all be in vein and accomplish virtually nothing. Nothing but a number on a report card.

Finally moving out, just got approved for accommodation at uni, I'll be living minimally due to my shitty job but I would rather be independent than bum around my parents house any longer

This, definitely this. Although, I won't be able to move out 'till I'm employed and eighteen. So, a year at tops.

Re: Why was your day great?
Wore chest binder (It FINALLY arrived.) to school, had attractive people feel up my chest saying "SO SMOOTH, YOU HAVE LIKE PECS AND ABS" all day. Had a very emotionally and bonding moment with genderqueer friend. (I pulled down my shirt collar, and like rubbed the strap of my binder, she did the same with hers. Was touching.) And I got the lead in the play I auditioned for, well one of the four main leads.

I want this sooo much. The cost for accommodation here isn't generally huge, but it's... a bit hefty. I'll have to look for jobs, as well.
Can't wait to see how it goes.

Re: Why was your day great?
I completely skipped school with my friend and blamed it on being at a random high school's open house day in which we were for just a short while
Try it on yourself!

Re: Why was your day great?
Today our tutor mysteriously didn't show up, so we decided to leave prematurely. This is easier said that done, as we had to get 25-30 people out of the building which involves sneaking past a bunch of classrooms full of students who couldn't wait to leave and would no doubt give the game away if they saw us leaving before we had done our time. We all managed to get out of school without being caught though, and we were like LOL and felt like a boss

I did this, but on mah own last week.
Also, I completely shouted at a dinnerlady. Felt good man. Now trying to convince friends to arrive at school tommorow, meet at bike sheds and simply walk out and take the day off, I have one friend who will do it if some others do it which is annoying.
