RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Jung/Briggs-Meyers Test

Hello! I am new here and I scored this.

INFJ
Introvert: 53%
Intuition: 7%
Feeling: 3%
Judging: 16%

I will always be an introvert at school, no matter what. But I only socialize with my friends at school and no one else in my school.

Intriguingly, I seem to be an extrovert... albeit a really shy one.

If my interpretations of the Jungian cognitive functions are correct, I'm an ENFP (as opposed to an INFP, which I initially thought I was).

i always get infp or enfp, never anything else. it's pretty fitting imo.
i think i'm more of an ambivert. really depends on how i'm feeling that day.
like, sometimes i socialize a ton and go to parties and hang out with people and other times i just stay by myself and am very happy with that.

Jung/Briggs-Meyers Test

Hiiii, newbie here. Mine's:
Quote:INFP
=>Introvert(44%) iNtuitive(34%) Feeling(16%) Perceiving(41%)
•You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (44%)
•You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (34%)
•You have slight preference of Feeling over Thinking (16%)
•You have moderate preference of Perceiving over Judging (41%)

I've taken multiple of these till now. Other results have been either INTP or INFJ, but they sure do say that personalities change if given enough time...so I guess this shouldn't be permanent. At least for me ;-)

Jung/Briggs-Meyers Test

Just for the hell of it, I redid the tests (both of them).

The first one says this:

Quote:INTJ
Introvert(84%) iNtuitive(25%) Thinking(9%) Judging(12%)

You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (84%)
You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (25%)
You have slight preference of Thinking over Feeling (9%)
You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (12%)

The second one says this:

Quote:Your personality type is I N F P !
Introverted (I) 96% Extraverted (E) 4%
Intuitive (N) 59% Sensing (S) 41%
Feeling (F) 65% Thinking (T) 35%
Perceiving (P) 59% Judging (J) 41%

... lol

They have quite a big difference in how they word the questions though, and I suspect that's why.

RE: Jung/Briggs-Meyers Test

I basically took the test a long while back with my wife to help me. She is super apt at observing people and she of course lives with me.

I've gotten various results but based on the descriptions and a few of the results I always get ENFJ.

My wife read the description and helped me to be honest when answering the questions so we pretty much determined I am an ENFJ.

ENFJ.........ooh, got it! Extrovert Intuitive Feeling Judging, right?

Niiiiiice! I wish I was 'Feeling' like you, but being just in the middle of 'Thinking' and 'Feeling' should do.

Quote:I wish I was 'Feeling' like you, but being just in the middle of 'Thinking' and 'Feeling' should do.
You can probably change it if you focus on practicing with your feelings more. I focused more on thinking and have been leaning more in that direction lately, but I can still go either way. I think being close to the middle is probably the best of both worlds.

RE: Jung/Briggs-Meyers Test

My academic framework, self-described, has probably shifted me towards "feeling", but I need to take the test again. I'll need my wife's help Confused

I approach knowledge like this: If it sounds about right I'll basically believe it, but if it doesn't sound right I'll think about it and if necessary do some research.

Jung/Briggs-Meyers Test

The first test gives me different results quite often, but the Kisa test has always consistently pegged me as INFP. So I think that one is more accurate...

Latest results (again):

First:

INFJ
Introvert(88%) iNtuitive(47%) Feeling(9%) Judging(12%)

You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (88%)
You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (47%)
You have slight preference of Feeling over Thinking (9%)
You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (12%)

Kisa:

Your personality type is I N F P !
Introverted (I) 100% Extraverted (E) 0%
Intuitive (N) 59% Sensing (S) 41%
Feeling (F) 75% Thinking (T) 25%
Perceiving (P) 68% Judging (J) 32%

This is also interesting for people on the INFP/INFJ/INTJ fence:
http://www.infjorinfp.com/

According to what I've figured out from their info, I am leaning more towards INFP.

RE: Jung/Briggs-Meyers Test

Here's my results from the test in the OP:

Quote:Extravert(22%) iNtuitive(59%) Thinking(9%) Judging(47%)

You have slight preference of Extraversion over Introversion (22%)
You have distinct preference of Intuition over Sensing (59%)
You have slight preference of Thinking over Feeling (9%)
You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (47%)

I used to get different results from the same tests every few months, but I settled into ENTJ a while ago, albeit with a 51/49 split on a couple traits. It looks like I'm becoming a more pronounced ENTJ with time, but I'm still fairly well balanced overall. I know a few tests had me thinking I might be an ambivert, and I did come out ahead in sensing over intuition on one of the tests I took a few months back, but I'm comfortable saying I'm an ENTJ at this point.[/quote]

It never fails to amaze me both how rigid personalities can be and how malleable they are. We're paradoxes.

ENFJ

Extravert(1%)  iNtuitive(47%) Feeling(28%)  Judging(9%)

You have marginal or no preference of Extraversion over Introversion (1%)You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (47%)You have moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (28%)You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (9%)

I just took this while fasting in Ramadan, so my inclination to be an introvert is higher as its supposed to be, so i dont think INFJ would actually be applicable.

Edit: upon reconsulting the pages for INFJ and the celebrities, i'm prettt sure I am more if an INFJ. when answering these questions context appears influential. I enjoy thinking of myself as extroverted, but in the absence of like minded people i become judgy and introverted, which i think happens a lot more than i realize. Not exactly good memories to stand out. "Hey remember that time you felt disengaged and didnt say anything" vs. "Remember that time you were arguing about such-and-such"

It wasn't until I was 20 something that I first did Myers Briggs. My only regret was not doing it sooner. My parents and teachers punished me and tried to make me more process orientated and it simply did not work. Now I love to work on multiple projects such as jelt.com
