RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Nice. Super speed would be cool, too.

Re: Your Ideal Life
Hm... Somewhere slightly warm, with a lot of nature, but still urbanized. I'd work as a storyline writer for Square-Enix, hopefully the team named Advent Children. I'd live close to my friends, yet be far enough away to get some time to prepare if they come over. I'd live with a certain someone who may or may not be on my MSN contact list. My house would be spacious, with a lot of traditional Japanese stuff. It'd have rooms specifically devoted to certain hobbies like gaming, meditating, sparring, stuff like that. I'd have a pool/spa/pond thing in my backyard, I'd have a pet dog, maybe a shepherd.
I'll add other details later.

The less you believe it will happen, the less you will do to make it happen... and the less likely it is to happen.

Re: Your Ideal Life
Unrealistic as it is:
My ideal life:
Be born into an incredible rich legacy family, assuring me stability financially for a while, even if our money runs out the name would carry me. Make friends all over the world, living a life mainly in Europe. I'd have friends who like me for who I am not my jets and all. we'd spend one night in a pub in Ireland, then sleep in the fields of romania then next night, then spend a day in moscow then fly over the North Pole while we play poker all night long. life would be great for a while, then I'd settle down work in one of my parents business's learn the tools of the trade.
Life 2:
Eh' Ill post this later, I need a nap bad..

Re: Your Ideal Life
My ideal life? I think I'll stay out in the country, get a small-time job at a local newsletter, live in a tiny ickle cottage with lots of books and really fast internet, and slowly evolve into Crazy Cat Lady.

Ok new plan: my ideal life is to run accross this guy's lawn wearing nothing but a boonie hat and, in my last moments of life before the snipers take me down, plant a communist flag on his roof.
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.

i would like to be like che and help the world reduce poverty since:
The poorest 40 percent of the world’s population accounts for 5 percent of global income. The richest 20 percent accounts for three-quarters of world income.Source

That sounds oddly familiar, I am sure I heard that somewhere. A movie reference perhaps?
