RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

School Bathrooms

I really hate fucking school bathrooms.
They stink so damn much that my balls will drop off and you never get a moment of peace.
Not only that but there is only 1 seat toilet in each bathroom and people like to piss on it Yuck .

Re: School Bathrooms

My school bathrooms are nice...

But we're only given 3 minutes to go to and from classes. In that time, we're supposed to go, but it's impossible unless you forego all hygiene.

Then you have to ask if you need to go during class, which is embarrassing.

I wonder why, in our textbooks, we had 2 pages of Civil Disobedience (by Thoreau), when the unabridged one in a book had 18 pages? Seems odd, don't you think?
We almost never read the full stories or full novels in the highest English class my high school offered. We read only small parts of Don Quixote and the Illiad. Pathetic.

Re: School Bathrooms

The one bathroom near the cafeteria smells like a sewer by the time lunch starts, and i would choke the moment i went in (yeah, its that horrible)... As far as the toilets go, i will never use them, period (except for peeing). The urinals have this weird stuff in them (i can't even begin to describe what is but know it has something to do with the students).

Also the hall monitors for some reason started making everyone sign in to use the bathrooms. It use to be only during class but now, you have to sign in when you want to use the bathroom, even between classes! If you dont't, they turn into nazi's and scream at you.. Yeah, its that bad...

Re: School Bathrooms

Our school remodeled all of the bathrooms as part of the most recent rennovation. Now everything is sensor-operated, and they look like the kinds of bathrooms you would find in a fancy restaurant.

Re: School Bathrooms

Back in middle school, we had these shitty bathrooms that smelled horrible and would constantly have to be closed and maintained. The sinks could be clogged with a sheet of toilet paper. The drain was nothing more than a piece of metal with small holes in it, so one time, my friends and I placed a sheet of paper towel on it, then turned on the sink, and let it run for about an hour. Due to the uneven surface of the bathroom floor, the bathroom flooded (as well as the sink).

Other antics include pissing on the floor, in the sink, on the toilet bowl, on the walls, and occasionally in the urinals; shitting on the floor, the sink, the urinals, and occasionally the toilets, and vandalizing the bathroom with various food items, such as pudding.

Re: School Bathrooms

I would piss on the floor every time I went in the bathroom. The boy's bathroom at our high school was like something out of a horror movie. I once went in with shit smeared all over the walls, as if someone put their fingers in crap and had a finger painting session on the walls. The smell was nice.

Re: School Bathrooms

The washrooms at my school have not been cleaned in years... many sinks won't turn on, or let out only a tiny stream of water. Many of the cubicles have missing doors, or doors that are difficult to open, I got trapped inside one.

The second floor washroom has all the same problems, even thoug the recently "remodeled" it. All they did was paint over the tiles. Also, the bin in that one is located directly below the bacon dispenser, so in the unlikely event that some-one uses it instead of actually drying their hands, the floor gets covered in paper towels and whatever else was thrown out there.

The only good signature is a dead signature.

my school bathroom has a stall containing the "mens club art wall: for expression of finer things" which has a shit load of graffiti that has been erased and ressurected

it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

have you noticed how the stall doors are intentionally narrower than the stall so you can't lock it? it REALLY sucks when you have to shit real bad and you barge right into another students business

The bathroom walls in my school always have the most interesting things to say. In between the bricks, where the mortar dries, people like to write little messages for people to read.

I'm not sure if it's intenional or just bad design. It's orse at my school though. Some of the stalls don't even have doors.

Happened to me a few times when i had to use one of the stalls between classes and accidently barged into another persons buisness, it was pretty embarrasing

Re: School Bathrooms

We have crappy ones, and then some nice ones. The crappy ones used to be sickly green, but were painted badly in purple so now look worse than before. There is mould. I opened a toilet once to find rubbish up to the 3ft mark, falling all over me. There is stuff down the toilets. Used tampons, turds everything. There is never any soap or toileyt roll. It's a hazard.

Makes me kind of wonder, could you sue the school for that, because that poses a health hazard if they arent providing any kind of sanitary measures whatsoever...

I could only sue if someone got hurt. Oh, i forgot the toilet paper that has been screwed up, wet and throw on the ceiling where it has dried and been left.

Re: School Bathrooms

my bathrooms are ok... don't smell and aren't torn up. But there no fine restaurant bathrooms.
The kids never flush there shit down the toilet and someone has usually ripped out all the paper towels knocked over the garbage bin or clogged the sinks. (or all three) And the floor is wet from kids flooding the sinks and pissing on the floor.

Not as bad as public bathrooms though.

Had to move on. Account is dead.
