Rumors say the barbarians are actually cannibals driven by their hunger.

They are headed towards the capital, where you millions of women and children find shelter from a painful bloody death. Remnants of the military forces are drafting as much of people they can, If you have over 16, they give you a weapon (Whatever in sight, maybe an AK47, or even a lame 9mm handgun). It is the fuckin epic last battle.
The odds say that it will end with barbarians defeated but in cost of a huge deaths in your country's side.

Personally I wouldn't. Hell, what IS a country? My definition says it is an area measured by kilometers squares happens to be a habitat by people who mostly share some common phenotype and speak the same mother tongue. I DON'T KNOW these people why the hell does their life should suddenly concern me?

It is fucking annoying whenever I mention that I amn't really a much of a patriot in a middle of a conversation, and every time everyone is like "0_o you don't love your country?".

I'd fight only for someone I loved - and that if and only if I lived a big part of my life doing stuff I love and experiencing as much as I can - not for some piece of land. Hell, I love cultural diversity, but I'm not a patriot. I don't love my country more than any other out there. To me, my country is simply the geographical mass where I was born - and nothing more.

More on patriotism: It's just like racism: what, you don't like being a white guy? Would you like to be a filthy nigger instead? It's bullshit of the highest level.

Why don't people see that we're all here for one reason, to enjoy life? Our goals in life are common, even though they vary. We all seek to enjoy life, by doing the things we love. Can't we all do that together, without the need of grouping people into age, sex, race and location brackets, and without having the need to plunder and pillage everything in sight?

Just by attacking, they are violating your right to reside in that area. Do you really want to be a pussy and let them violate your rights and kill/rape the women and children? Perhaps some of them are your children too.

By letting them invade, you allow them to spread a culture that relies on invasion and bullying of other groups. They'll just keep doing it and spread their already flawed culture and systems.

In a tit for tat strategy, you WOULD defend the land, because you need to counter their attack with violence(or something just as effective), or they will not learn to cooperate. This is how civilization formed, if people let other people bully people, then people wouldn't cooperate.

I'm a woman myself, and not very battle-skilled. However, if we assume I'm a capable fighter, I'd judge the situation more closely. Now, to get that out of the way, I wouldn't defend the defenceless because they're my nation. I'd defend them because they are human beings deservant of life, and I'd do this for any other nationality too. However, as I said, close judgement is required. It only makes sense to fight if we've got a chance. If we do, I would.

However, I'm not a capable fighter. I'd try to help in other ways. Resistance fighters have a long history of helping people emigrate to safety or providing hiding places for the persecuted. These are things I'd do if I didn't decide the best choice is to emigrate.

You're not making sense, because in your earlier posts you seemed to be defending your right to not join the fighting force.

Not being part of a group means you're less likely to survive, there's evolutionary reasons behind why we have the desire to stick with the group we already know and defend it.

If your group gets attacked by the barbarians, and you abandon it, it's more likely to get killed, and have its resources stolen. The group might include your family. You're also less likely to survive once you've left the group. Other groups are less likely to accept you.

Saving your group from the barbarians makes a lot more sense than running off. By defending, you promote cooperation by using a tit for tat strategy, you increase the chances of survival of your loved ones, and yours too if you fight in a non-suicidal way, and you stop a flawed culture in its tracks, by not allowing them to exploit and bully other groups.
