RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Re: BREAKING NEWS NK Launches nuclear warhead for pacific coast
Dammit, don't do that! Now I have to pack up all my nuclear war survival gear again, and that takes a while!
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins. The quickest way to kill a revolution is to wait for it.
Re: BREAKING NEWS NK Launches nuclear warhead for pacific coast
I used to. Now it's mostly just stuff to survive in the woods. I figure the chances of North Korea making a missile that can hit New York are pretty slim, although if Pakistan falls, it might be a different story.

Which makes them all the more dangerous. A nuclear nation is dangerous, but a nuclear nation that's falling apart and desperate for money could end up scattering its former weapons across the planet in the hands of every terrorist group that can pay. Look what happened in Russia: many CIA analysts consider the fall of the Soviet Union to the be the most dangerous thing that ever happened to the planet. Instead of one big country that has the capacity to wipe out the world, but probably won't, you have nukes lying in holes in the ground guarded by poor and easily-bribable sentries that can be picked up by religious fanatics who would have no problem using the weapons because they believe it will result in paradise and 72 virgins. Kim Jong Il isn't the danger; the power vacuum left after he dies is.

Re: BREAKING NEWS NK Launches nuclear warhead for pacific coast
PATRIOTs are actually not that great. they did the job back in the first Gulf War, but there were a lot of problems. Like sometimes the missiles would destroy the fuel stage of the enemy rocket, but the warhead would keep flying and detonate when it hit the ground.

Re: BREAKING NEWS NK Launches nuclear warhead for pacific coast
i am kinda pissed off that america goes around destroying countries that have nukes. Just because they HAVE nukes, dosent mean they'll use them. LEAVE THEM ALONE! Stupid white house occupants. oh, and i suppose its ok for the U.S., the most CORRUPTED NATION IN THE WORLD, to have nukes instead of a small, corrupted, rebelling country? Assholes.

Dude... this is Kim Jong Il we're talking about. That guy is a fucking psycho, there's no telling what he'll want to do with his nukes... or who will get them after he dies.
And I don't think I ever said it was okay for the US to have them either.
