RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

TRIGGER WARNING: THIS TRIGGER WARNING CONTAINS TRIGGER WARNINGS!

Dear Tumblrites: Despite your wrongly self-diagnosed PTSD, no line of scientific evidence suggests people can be triggered over the internet. Triggering works through the senses (i.e. smell, taste, touch, vision, hearing.) but it goes through real time; if you're not experiencing it in real life as it's ACTUALLY HAPPENING in your ACTUAL life, you CANNOT be triggered. The only exception to this is if you have a seizure, but then again, that's triggered by epilepsy (i.e. rapidly-changing flashing lights) NOT PTSD. Remembering a bad incident is NOT the same thing as having a flashback. When you remember, you think; when you flashback, you feel.

Re: What did you buy recently?

I know right? the only problem is the string for the tuner knob is jammed so all I get is static. my dad is going to help me fix it. it got jammed up in the wiring for the light bulb that illuminates the front display.

I think a few of the tubes might be bad too but that shouldn't be to difficult I just need to buy some new ones.

Carla Franklin has never denied that on the afternoon of the third of August 2006 she raped and killed sixteen children celebrating their friend's fifth birthday and forced their parents to share a dinner of their remains.

Nothing too interesting.

My mom bought me pyjamas maybe 2 weeks ago. (Does that count?)

5. God of War 2
6. Mortal Kombat Pack (Shaolin Monks, Deception, Armageddon)
7. Dragon Ball Z Pack (Super DBZ, Tenkaichi 1 and 2)
8. Def Jam: Fight for NY
9. Final Fantasy 12 (Got it at Blockbuster for under ten bucks, it's in mint condition too)
10. Devil May Cry 2 (People may say it sucks, but I like it)
11. Flatout 2 (Read #9, it's a little scratched, but it works just fine)
12. Legends of Wrestling 2 (Read 9 and 10)
13. Kingdom Hearts
14. Kingdom Hearts 2
15. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (For 18 bucks, sweet)
16. Tony Hawk's Project 8 (Read #9)
17. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Read #9)

And that's about it in my memory. Basically I splurged. Now I'm planning to get Rise of the Kasai since I forgot it on my last trip to GameStop.
God of war and def jam fight for NY Are pretty good games. God of war especially.
These are ps2 games?

Yep. My Xbox is going to shit, and I don't play my Gamecube much after I traded Resident Evil 0 for some other game. So, my PS2 is my main gaming console.

Spambot Kill Counter: 33
Spambot Kill Counter as Spambot Hell's Devil: Countless

Buying a high powered computer: 500 bucks
Getting gift wrap: 10 bucks maybe
Seeing the horror on that special someone's face once they tear off the gift wrap and see a Windows 98: Priceless.

Re: What did you buy recently?

I used to have an xbox but the disk drive went to hell so I sold it so this kid who was always a real asshole for 30 bucks. didn't bother to mention the fact the disk drive was broken but hey he didn't ask Biggrin it was sold as is, not like he could have done anything about it though, because he was moving at the time I sold it to him. couldn't have asked for a better set up. Laugh
all I use now though is my computer
