RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Here I go?

Well Im just going to write. You give ideas, I may include them in the plot or if they give me good idea's I can spin this into a good story.

His feet sank into the warm sun baked sand as he slowly made step by step across the desert. It was a hot day, He though to himself. "It's always a damn hot day." He grumbled and tossed around in his mind weather he should allow himself a little bit more dried meat at the next meal break. He had been thinking about that for an hour since there really is nothing else to think about these kind of things. He decided (after a good 5 minute contemplation) To drink another half cup of water from his reserve. The boys name was Merro, an odd name for a boy but he was an odd person, A wanderer of the great deserts were few wander. In search of great artifacts of the past in order to make enough to settle down someday. But merro likely never would settle down. He liked to wander and find the strange wreckage of the old peoples. Merro plopped down on the sand and brought his one gallon jug up to his mouth. It used to contain something called "Arizona Green Tea" He knew what green tea was but he was not sure what arizona was. It must be some innovation from the old times. The only thing Merro really cared about was that it held a good amount of water. Along with his other 4 smaller bottles which the labels had long worn off. Brushing off some sand from his pants as he stood up. He saw a small gray dot to the west.
After his hard walking he was not greeted by a small village with water or some mysterious trader, But a crumpled peace of artillery half sunken into the sand. It was had probley been dug up long ago, And since refitted and used in the three wars. The gun did not interest him, Since such thing was a common sight. But what did interest him was the corner of something wood sticking from the sand. The scooping motion of uncovering artifacts from the sand was familiar to him. And soon the crate was exposed. Merro was not one to waste time being carful about things so he picked up a peace of metal laying on the sand and bashed open the crate. This time wishing he been more careful as 30 two inch artillery shells spilled out of the crate. "Now that is what I'm talking about" He stuffed 4 shells is his backpack, He wish he could carry more because these would get a good price. Ammo was rare and wanted in the desert, Ever since the trade roads from the north were cut off. He dug more encouraged by his find. And came up with a Flask, A kevlar vest (Which the secrets to producing had been lost) And a few gold badges from the officers remains which might fetch 5 gallons of water and a pound of dried meet at a good market. That is if he noticed the the man behind him stab a needle into the back of his neck. Because suddenly his thoughts had slowed, and the world began to spin and slowly turn black.

Had to move on. Account is dead.
