RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

N00b rules

1) Break the rules ALWAYS.
2) Make non-sense and off-topic posts as much as possible. If they're the 100% of your messages, better yet.
3) Bump all the old topics you can find. If you can bump the first post in the messageboard, better yet.
4) Pos no undrstndbl n misepld mesagse alwyas. |f 1337, 83++3|2 y3+.
5) Always think that because you say something it's right and that everybody else is wrong.
6) Ignore popular knowledge as much as possible. Don't read the pages about the topic of the messageboard, just post without worrying about it. And of course, don't use Google or any other searcher.
7) If you watch something you didn't saw before, asume that nobody knew about it and post it as the amazing news of the millenium, being you the discoverer.
8) Always think that you're the best. Always think that the administrators and moderators are worth nothing and that everybody should follow you. If possible, flame the administrators and the moderators.
9) Create flamewars as much as possible.
10) Propose stupid games/polls/etc. to the people as often as possible. The more stupid it is, the best it is.
11) Your nick should be something stupid or non-sense.
12) Try to get all your posts and topics in the Spam/Trash forum of the messageboard if possible.
13) After anything you can't explain or you can't say anything about, say "LOL INTERNET".
14) Don't have a life outside internet.
15) Do anything else that isn't explicity specified here that annoys decent people.
16) Get banned as fast as possible.
17) Spam the messageboard with fake accounts and such stuff after being banned.

I lawled repeatedly.

You forgot "bump the most painful message out there, make it just the right amount of time for them to start getting over it, preferably from whatever venting/emotional distress sub forum is available and say 'suck it up you peice of shit'."

CHECK!

It's better to just hack three older members accounts and spam with that, all the while claiming to have also gained control of a moderator account so that they temporrarilly close down the forums for 6 hours like I did on one site.

Who am I? Who are YOU?

N00b = Noob = Newbie = New user, therefore this point is invalid.

More troll rules, not all newbies are trolls.

I used to be "The circus" as I forgot my login, but then hey-ho I remembered it.

Re: N00b rules

No, there are n00bs and newbs. Newbs are good, n00bs are the troll-y newfags.

And number 14 applies to me too.
