RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.
Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.
Note before you read: I may go all over the place so try to understand if i'm on one subject one minute and a different thing another.
I know i'm one of the many supposed teens here but I really dislike the whole idea of it. I dislike most schools/school districts anyway because they spend money on new technology and not coping with the amount of students needs. High school and school altogether is just one giant messed up melting pot. I go through day in and day out of trying to cope with personal issues in my life which are under these categories which make my life hell. 1) I have a disability which makes social interaction hard. 2) I have massive insecurities and I am the shyest person ever. 3) I cannot handle being a classroom of people or even 5 as I get scared and nervous.
High school pushes me to the limits and tries it's hardest to make it seem like it's needed to be vital to human evolution. Uh no. I highly doubt that and if human revolution revolved around 1) Money. 2) War. We're sure heading down a hole which is deeper than anything ever seen in existence. I highly doubt that we'll get anywhere in the future with teenagers and general school students altogether having little to no human rights in an environment which promotes "education" and "your future". My future doesn't need to be guided by a forced slavery, wages, and the government saying I have to go to school because some billionaires are able to make the middle class work harder than them and even pay for their fuckups.
Students deserve more than just "turn in this", "pass this test to graduate", "try and get these grants to get into college easier", etc. I really dislike how the world is at this state and wish the government would stay out of rights of individuals or cease to exist altogether. Authority should not guide you, you should guide that authority. Think about the future of your own self and not let it think one for you. I want my future to be my own choice. Not the government. Not my parents. Not some billionaires tax slave. No. None of that. I want to be free of conflict and money. I want to actually be FREE and not have the word said at me everyday even though freedom is having the ability to choose. Choose who I want to be. Choose who I am. And choose my destiny.
Welcome to SS, Rightsmen.
I understand how you're feeling. Just like everyone else here, I hate school too. And it's good to get things off your chest, I rant all the time about school.
I agree with all your points, particularly the fact that all we do is have to "turn this in" and "pass this test to graduate" it's all bullshit to me. And all our lives we are being controlled by a strict authority. Even if the authority isn't that strict in your place, it still is an authority, they have power over you, and the fact that someone or some group can "order" you, freaks me out.
But anyway, peace out man, are you thinking of dropping out? The site has a good section dedicated to alternatives to school if you're interested. Otherwise, stand your ground and stand by your opinion if you choose (or are forced to) go through school.

Do not let school brainwash you and royally screw over your entire life.

Was that bump even neccesary? Well I am now so I guess I can't say much.
Congratulations humanity, because you refuse to let go of the old and evolve you actually make people believe in 2012. Not only that, but you're the only species on Earth that were able to make it possible, now we get to sit until we die because we couldn't get to Mars. We have failed as a society and don't deserve our gifts to survive for this long. Maybe this is why dinosaurs are extinct, we sure aren't any better than the dirt you say we're created from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla...DvwSOFto#!

Welcome. I see you have an innate hatred of schools. This will come in handy around here (obviously). If you need to know the top 10 ways to make a drink out of bits of kittens with only a paper clip and a screwdriver, I'm your man.

There's my little rant.
