To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

When we have ceased to love the stench of the human animal, either in others or in ourselves, then are we condemned to misery, and clear thinking can begin.

Since I no longer expect anything from mankind except madness, meanness, and mendacity; egotism, cowardice, and self-delusion, I have stopped being a misanthrope.

It is true that we are weak and sick and ugly and quarrelsome but if that is all we ever were, we would millenniums ago have disappeared from the face of the earth.

Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying,
"I love you".
I hear babies cry,

And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

Gotta admit those two above guys at least gave two good trolling quotes for military officials.
Whether military men are honorable or not I gotta admit one thing..
Glad its not me being shot at and that there are people who will go get shot at for me less we have a draft or something(though if we had it people might be smarter about their wars).

Not everyone who goes to war will ever see combat. My dad needs to realize this too.

Yeah I already know(had to talk to my mom about it) Just like to joke.
Still I don't want to join the military and I got friends who are officiers who are still on wait for positions because people don't want to retire.

"When someone mentions a Montessori-type school or a Sudbury-type school or any type of school where children are in control of their education, people fiercely oppose it. They hate the idea of natural learning. They believe it means that children will now run amok; that they won't be proper members of society, that they won't have any control of them anymore. They rather see children be obedient and quiet and those systems are against that. That's why they hate and fear those types of schools. They rather have someone else tell them how kids should act, what they should learn, and when to do it, regardless if it's what the kids really like or if it harms them physically, emotionally, or mentally in the long run. And they disguise all this, rather nicely, under the guise of an “education” for the child. Whether you realize it or not, we're advocating and encouraging the enslavement of youth, everyone's behind it, and not enough people realizes this yet."-Me

"See, if you love a person then you love the WHOLE person, including their flaws. You might not LIKE those flaws, but you LOVE that person, so you fucking deal with it! Hell, you don't even have to go as far as loving a person. All you have to do is have a little respect for the differences in people and realize that not everyone is going to be exactly the way you want them to fucking be and THAT'S PERFECTLY FINE, YOU IDIOT! "The pessimist sees a tangled piece of rope and mopes because untangling it would be too hard and pointless. The optimist sees a tangled piece of rope and tries to untangle it, despite the time, frustration and patience that comes with it. The philosopher understands why the rope is tangled up in the first place. "

"You are saying our problem is civil disobedience, but that is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is the numbers of people all over the world who have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world, in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem."

Both rely on the premise that you've met and talked to every human on the planet and concluded that each and every one of them are either all nice and lovable or just a bunch of stupid assholes. Both positions are illogical and ignorant to begin with."

Thats a quote I remember from the episode of the simpsons when lisa wanted to strike. shame those times have passed.
There is an expression in the Wasteland: "Old World Blues." It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is. They stare into the what-was, eyes like pilot lights, guttering and spent, as the realities of their world continue on around them. Science is a long, steady progression into the future. What may seem a sudden event often isn't felt for years, even centuries, to come.
In the times following the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, however, Old World Blues took on a new meaning. Where once it was viewed as a form of sadness, nostalgia, it became an expression describing the potential for the future. It can be easy to see Science as evil, technology unchecked as the source of all ills, all misfortunes. With the Courier at the helm, Science became a beacon for the future. There was Old World Blues, and New World Hope. And hope ruled the day at Big MT.
"And thus I clothe my naked villainy, with old odd ends stolen forth from holy writ and seem a saint when most I play the devil."
