RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

That is just too stupid. They're just pants! No
Obviously they were bored and wanted to pick on somebody. Or have a mental disorder. Bored

More proof that Texas schools are full of fucking stupidity.

Yeah, I live in the same part of Texas as this kid, and it's hell. They just sugarcoat it.

Re: Kid excluded for 'skinny pants'

After 16 there is no uniform, usually. I'm wearing tighter jeans than that right now. I dont see the problem with them, tbh.

These didn't look like jeans imo so I just called them pants, but what ever floats your boat.

Re: Kid excluded for 'skinny pants'

Those suck basterds, trying to change the way someone dresses. At least he HAD pants on. I'm all for skinny jeans, I just can't don't like to were them. I tried a pair on the other day, and my calfs are to big.

Full Metal Alchemist quoets.
Hidden stuff:
Alphonse Elric: Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of equivalent exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one and only truth.

Lieutenant Lisa Hawkeye: You're useless in the rain, so please stay back, Colonel.

Jean Havoc: The classic sewer escape.
Roy Mustang: Don't follow him.
Jean Havoc: Dammit, I was about to jump in!
Maes Hughes: Nice mess! Is it over yet?
Roy Mustang: You know, you could try to help while you're here, Hughes.
Maes Hughes: Lay off, I'm as normal as they come and this is a contest of freaks. What do you want me to do, fire my slingshot at him?

Lieutenant Colonel Maes Hughes: [telling Mustang about the investigation on Scar] His bloodstained clothes washed up further downstream. We don't know if that means that he's dead, or just naked.

Roy Mustang: [about his first day if he were the Fuhrer] On that day, all female officers will be required to wear... tiny miniskirts!
[Strikes pose

Ed:"You owe me for this one, Colonel."
Roy:"Hearing you say that makes a chill run down my spine..."

I'll admit that I don't like skinny jeans and think they look horrendous on guys (and some women). However, I will fight for your right to wear them. That said, what the hell, Texas?

Re: Kid excluded for 'skinny pants'

Heard the rule against baggy jeans way to many times to count. The rule against skinny jeans? Never heard of it till now. Really fucked up that he got kicked out for wearing jeans that are a little tight...OMG what next are they gonna kick the people in weights classes out for wearing muscle shirts?
