To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Whenever I thought about close range weapons for zombies, I would always think TRENCH SPIKE and then I saw it in the zombie survival guide and was like FUCK YEAH!
You could screw some zombies up with this fucker.

Couldn't you just carry some sharpening stones for your axe/knife/whatever? Zombie fighting would kind of be like combat, So you may be kicking ass and then just sitting around for hours. Then you could sharpen stuff.

Even if you are (which most people aren't) it's still not that great a weapon. Good luck finding a sword of combat quality too. Most of today's swords are just shitty replicas or bad excuses for a sword.

I'm just not sure something slim would be best for hewing through zombies.

A good katana made by a master sword maker and properly sharpened can cut through a 8 inch thick bamboo mat tube in one slice. And that is really hard to cut through so they test them on that.
Then again, Try finding a katana made by a master sword maker and being able to sharpen and care for it in the middle of zombie combat.

I've got enough knowledge on the stuff to make myself a longsword, and swing it quite lightly(much different than wielding a katana, but as fast if you don't lose the flow).

Exactly. I'm not against a sword, knife, or what have you, but if you don't have some kind of hit-ova-da-head weapon, then your not gonna live for very long. What if after 50 or so cuts at a time, it gets dull?
