To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

She stepped down as Alaska governor in July, 17 months before the end of her first term in office. Her resignation came less than a year after she vaulted to overnight fame as John McCain's running mate.
Palin worked part-time as a weekend sportscaster in the 1980s for KTUU-TV in Anchorage.
Her upcoming commentary career had her Facebook fans giddy with excitement Monday.
"Tell 'em like it is girl!!!!!!," one poster wrote.
Palin finished a nationwide tour in December to promote her best-selling book, "Going Rogue."

Well, right now I'm watching Glenn Beck interview her on the television.
She seems like a nice lady, with some good views and some that aren't so great. She's not the average politician that has lied two-faced every step of the way and has no principles. She'd be a helluva lot better President than Obama.
I've also flipped through her book some, but not enough to get a good enough feel of it to make a judgment. She seems to paint herself as an average person who grew up in a small town environment that just happens to be a politician.

You never can tell about politicians though...
Oh, come on. Even the Republicans were scared of her ending up one seat away from the Presidency. It's been statistically proven that she lost McCain the election. She doesn't read newspapers. She accused Obama of being a terrorist. Her political knowledge would barely get her past a middle school geography test.
This isn't about her views. If she was liberal she would still be an idiot and a danger to the country. You don't need to defend her just because she agrees with you on some issues. God, if I was conservative I'd be terrified of her discrediting my people.

I am happy that she decided to quit being a politician. Well hopefully. Im "crossing my fingers" But I laughed so hard when she got hired to be a Fox News Commentator. I definitely wont be watching her.
