RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

ROBERT'S OUTSTANDING ADVENTURE (its interactive dawgs)

12 Tarmac Drive. An average Home. Belonging to an average man. His name is Robert.

As Robert woke up, he thought that it would simply be just another average, run of the mill, unextraodinary day.

Proceeding down the stairs, Robert knew nothing of the horror that would await him. It was a Saturday, and Saturdays are hardly known for their Shock and Awe.

"What shall I have for breakfast today?" Robert pondered to himself. Indeed, so much choice there was for the first meal of the day.

He proceeded to the Fridge and opened it, like a treasure chest full of foody goodness.

There it stood, a tray with Milk and Cereal on the top shelf. WHY milk and cereal would be on the top shelf together on a convenient tray, no one knew.

He poured the Cereal flakes into the bowl, listening to the pitter patter of the flakes as they flowed into the dish. Then, he proceed to add Milk, and that was when his life changed forever.

There was no milk in the Carton.

OH NOES! There is no Milk! How can Robert have breakfast if there is no milk? Indeed, such a horrible thing could not happen to a nicer person! Robert began to think. How could he aquire Milk? He had no money because- well, he didn't have any at the moment, that's all I'm saying. How can he aquire some Milk for his breakfast, folks?

Can YOU help Robert in his Quest for Milk?

(Basically what you have to do is suggest ways in which Robert could aquire some Milk. It's like an interactive adventure, sorta. The best suggestion or suggestions will be implemented into the story. The more silly, the better!)

Anyways; go to the grocery store and then something epic

TRIGGER WARNING: THIS TRIGGER WARNING CONTAINS TRIGGER WARNINGS!

Dear Tumblrites: Despite your wrongly self-diagnosed PTSD, no line of scientific evidence suggests people can be triggered over the internet. Triggering works through the senses (i.e. smell, taste, touch, vision, hearing.) but it goes through real time; if you're not experiencing it in real life as it's ACTUALLY HAPPENING in your ACTUAL life, you CANNOT be triggered. The only exception to this is if you have a seizure, but then again, that's triggered by epilepsy (i.e. rapidly-changing flashing lights) NOT PTSD. Remembering a bad incident is NOT the same thing as having a flashback. When you remember, you think; when you flashback, you feel.

Re: ROBERT'S OUTSTANDING ADVENTURE (its interactive dawgs)

baaah

why must all of the decent suggestions involve making new lots and sims

Quote:He busts into his neighbor's house and... Borrows, some milk.

But of course! Instead of simply going out and earning a living like everyone else, Robert could just risk a prison scentence and rob a house!

And who better to rob than that Cantakerous Bitch next door? Matt strolled out of his house (none of you suggested to first put his clothes on beforehand), and snuck up to the Kitchen window.

"HUZZAH!" Robert cheered, as now his breakfast dream came into reality. All he had to do was open the window and steal the Milk! However, his joy was not to last.

STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM

Uh oh, Robert! The Local Police Officer spotted you looking into a window with only your Pyjamas on! This may take some explaining!

What does Robert say to the Police Officer?

Come to think of it, all toasters do toast toast.
I'm sorry TDF, but toast doesn't go in a toaster, bread does!
But what happens when you put the toast back IN THE TOASTER? AND ONCE THE BREAD STARTS TO GET CRISPY, IT IS TOAST, SO EVEN IF IT'S IN THERE THE FIRST TIME, IT'S TOAST!!!!11!1!11111ONE11!!11! KAPZ LOK KRUIS KONTROLL FTW

Actually, it was an Ed, EDD, n EDDY reference
