RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Bah. .20s aren't very good without some serious hop-up adjustments in my opinion. AE .25s work wonders in my MP5.

Its funny because airsoft sucks and you guys should play paint ball. Also paint ball guns hardly ever break. People don't give a shit about airsoft, And airsoft is for pansies.

It's funny because paintball sucks and you should play airsoft. Also, airsoft guns are also highly durable if you get good ones, and only cost a fraction of paintball to maintain and use. People don't give a shit about paintball, and it's for people who like to pretend they're tough.

Re: ATTN: TDF
I test-fired the G&G I bought. I charged the battery for about three hours (about half the time I should be charging it), and the gun fired at a pretty good rate and its range was incredibly far.

Re: ATTN: TDF
I prefer airsoft over paintball. Airsoft is more realistic and doesn't stain your clothes.

Re: ATTN: TDF
I was able to try my guns out today. We had a small airsoft battle in the snow today, and although the pistol ran out of gas quickly, the rifle was awesome. The range and power of my new gun far exceeded those of my friends' guns, allowing me to destroy fucking everything. At the end of the match my teammate asked me to shoot him in the hand. I shot his finger from about five inches away. He said that it felt like he was bleeding inside.

Re: ATTN: TDF
Gas weapons are drastically less effective in below freezing temperatures anyway. Most guys I know use an electric powered sidearm in the winter if they use a gas one normally.

Re: ATTN: TDF
I unloaded half the magazine on one of my friends. All he had was a clear plastic machine gun so I decided "fuck it" and charged at him while spraying the whole thing at him.
Another one of my friends commented that I had hit him in the leg from 10 yards away and even though he was wearing snow pants it still caused him to wince.

Re: ATTN: TDF
I'm not sure about reliability of airsoft guns. I wanted to get into it so I got a handgun. The thing broke in a few weeks.

This is a classic example of why you don't buy your airsoft weaponry from Dick's Sporting Goods.

Do you feel the need to tell us pointless stuff that most of us already know like how people react to getting shot by an airsoft gun?

I didn't. I paid about 200 euros for it. Is that a lot of money for it?

I don't know the rate of dollars to euros, and I'm too lazy to look it up, so I dunno. And I've seen crappy ass guns go for a ridiculously large (for their quality, or lack of it) amount of money.

Re: ATTN: TDF
It's about $260, the handgun is a Taurus PT-92, gas operated.

Re: ATTN: TDF
Ah, it's a Cybergun. They're not a particularly bad model, but you can certainly get a better make, KWA for example, for roughly the same price.
