RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

MorikoElven Wrote:Will my Game poem now be a way to get back at any and all friend?

Also I fogot one for yesterday.

Yesterday's:

"Late"
I'm late, I'm late.
For a very important date.
I look to the clock nervously,
much like a white rabbit I once saw in a dream,

"Too late to catch up now" I say.
Cursing my one forgetfulness,
Surely I am worse than that rabbit.

Today's:

"No title."
Leaning on one hand, mumbling words that don't exist quite yet,
I am that girl the teacher's complain about,
but without me their class might be a little more boring.
I don't seem to know anything, but inside I'm thinking up things people wouldn't.
In this world...
Sometimes I feel like a very misplaced person, an outsider...
But without me this house would be a little more boring.
My only escape, is though typed words and a sketchpad,

'I wish I could leave.' I sometimes whisper,
but without me someone's life would be quite lonely.
And we can't have that.

I have no idea what the second means, but I like it...somewhat.
BEAUTIFUL!

Seriously... I envy you, dammit.

Th-thank you both very much! *Bows* I try sometimes...

Crayola, I love your poems, especially today's trippy one, but as I said I might be a little bias on that. Don't doubt your abilities.

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

I was talking to the little sister of one of my guyfriends and she said I should make a poem using the line 'A man eating rabbits.' So here it is.

Here we are, back at the beginning.
Before things seemed bleak and dim.
There was a time where things would shine in the morning light.
And you could feel that glow even in the dark.
But as we continue to live in this world, that glow tends to fade.
Like a man eating rabbits.
It is like society eating away at out innocence.
And for this I am sorry,
But at least my glow will continue to shine,
As long as I don't notice the bloodstains on my dress, and the razor blade resting so gently in my palm.

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

Dreamer.

This reality is holding me back.
So I'll pull the covers a little tighter around my cold shoulders.
After the heat sets in and I'm no longer shivering.
That's when it starts.
My mind goes a little foggy at the edges, and time seemingly stands still.
My body slows down and my thoughts become stranger and wilder as the unseen clock ticks slowly.
The images get brighter.
The scents become more real.
When I am most dead to this world...
That is when things change colour at random.
Though there are a few exceptions...there is ONE other place my mind is this vivid.
But it's not really a place...it's a person.

Meh, I'll make one that flows nicer tomorrow.

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

This one is about a character in the visual novel I'm playing.

Armless Artist.

Your deadpan expression,
And your sarcastic comments.
Make you my favourite of the lot in that school.
Somehow even with your disability.
Having no arms from the days you were born.
You are still an artist.
With visions no one else could create.
I asked you once how you painted without arms.
Your reply was worded so simply, yet it came from the heart.

"I use my feet."

...My first official visual novel involves cripples, inb4 any of you mention this!

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

I actually really like it. It reminds me of my rage fest when I overheard my stalker say "When I hurt my hand, I knew my career in art was over." I was about to yell "LEARN HOW TO DRAW WITH YOUR OTHER HAND THEN!!11"

Laugh I get so angry over art sometimes.

Laugh I would have yelled it at him, but I have less self control and probably would have thrown an art book at them. I want to learn to draw with my feet, would be epic.

It would.

But I suck enough as it is, and don't need to produce any further fail in the world.

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

But fail is FUN!

Speaking of fail.

Mommy says that if I try hard,
Even though I don't need to,
And get good grades,
I will become ever so slightly smarter,
Than I am now.
Daddy says that if I try harder,
Because I need to,
And get perfect grades,
I won't fail at life.

^Say the above in a childish voice filled with love.^

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

Heheheh glad to make someone lol~
I think I skipped a day, but I've made a few extra on other days so I guess that's okay.

Yesterday I witnessed,
The miracle of birth.
That cat seemed quite confused for a moment.
As her owner and her two daughter's freaked out.
While the babysitter and her mom remained calm.
As the first kitten was born on the couch, in one large SPLURT sound.
Most interesting babysitting job,
I'll ever have.

"?"

A girl with hair the colour of cotton candy. Dear.
Making multicoloured stitches in my skin. Patterns?
Across the sky of my mind these threads appear. Like stars?
Leading to stranger and stranger visions. Druggie dreams?
What is it I see? See?

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

"Not so sweet dreams."

I sigh,
Try rolling onto my side.
Readjust the pillow.
Too much to think about...
Pull the covers tighter.
After a couple repeats of this toss and adjust routine.
I sit up, and try remaking the covers completely.
Too much on my mind...
I flop back onto the bed, pulling the covers back up,
Adjusts the heat setting on the heating mattress,
Check the clock again.
Too much I want to say...
Make sure the alarm is set,
Try listening to some music.
I want to say something...
Try turning the light on.
read a bit of a book.
I want to yell something...
Try writing a little poem.
But no matter how much I write,
How many poems I make...
I still...

No rewrites, just wrote and submitted, woot.

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

"Badum"

That's the sound my heart makes,
At those moments of which I feel those floating hearts.
It's just like in the animes,
starry eyes, floaty hearts, bright backgrounds.
That's what love feels like.

Re: My poems of faaaaail. NaPo

There's something wonderful about being strange.
First off there's the confusion you can cause.
Students,
Teachers,
Small children,
Animals,
They are all so easily confused.
Then there's the fear,
When you're just too good and they start to believe what you say and are scared of it.
Seriously,
I honestly don't know how tight a moose is.
And I've never actually molested a gay boy,
Even on the dance floor.
In fact I've never been to a club!
Guess it just goes to show you,
Being strange can be troublesome.

But honestly it's worth it.

Although it's gotten old now.

It is true.
I hold an undying love for every SS member.
Even TA.
But don't tell him that.
An undying love to put Duelix in the tentacle chair.

This one partially made by my mom.

Nazis are pretty.
And like to kill the Jewish.
Heil Hitler's bitches.

'Heil' is one syllable, right?
