RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Crayola's NaPo

So, I took Vatman's advice. This will be my day one:

April 1st
I don't even know
the schematics
of poetry.

I just know
its pretty.

Yea, its impossible for me.
Soooo.... IS EVERYBODY READY TO SEE ME FAIL?!

Re: Crayola's NaPo

Well, here's another bucketon of fail, brought to you by yours truly. I got the style from Ellen Hopkins, I love her books.

April 2nd

In this black box is meaning.
Open it if you dare
Try.
Many a man has attempted
But very few have succeeded,
and
Not a one is quite the same.
Things are not what they seem, you will
find.
I have yet to find the key,
But I keep searching. For
your
sake, as well as for mine.
Keep searching, we may meet on the
way.

This sucked infinite ass, there was absolutely no flow whatsoever.

I'm sorry. It's really all I can say.

No, that doesn't sound like ti would help. Ellen Hopkins' books make me cry. (In the good way, not the bad way like Twilight did.)

Oh, I lol'd. I still haven't read crank, and it makes me mad.

And no, it was horrible. While the dude died I heard I thought you said forever, over and over.

Dammit. I read Tricks and was actually surprised, it wasn't sad. And I lol'd when all the different characters met up with each other at some point. Oh, and Identical was a complete and total mindfuck.

I haven't read Identical yet, but Tricks was pretty cool. And I had to take quite a few double0takes when the characters met up. 'Waaaait...that one sounds familia--Oh, that's it.'

Re: Crayola's NaPo

I nearly busted a gut when each character said they were going to Vegas.

Oh yea, I should probably pull another poem out my ass nao.

This is the worst poem ever.
The end.

Huh, I can actually find meaning in it. Even though that's supposed to be a joke. Laugh
Okay, srs bsnss now.

April 3rd
Rain falls on me.
Cleansing my mind.
My body.
My soul.

Thank god that's over. I half assed that one, bad.

Re: Crayola's NaPo

I had an entire poem written out, then my mom came in, asking if she could get on facebook. fuuuuu-

I'll try it again.

April 4th
Down the rabbit hole I go.
To where, I don't really know.

I find a bottle, reading "drink me".
And I really just wanted to see.

Where it lead was a land of love and respect,
for once in my life, everything's perfect.

Wow, I can't believe I just went with the whole Wonderland/drug cliche.

Thanks Vat, I'll edit it. I do like it more. And no, your not being arrogant. Hell, I'm pretty sure you were Shakespeare in a past life.

I knew it didn't flow enough, but at the time I was sorta apathetic towards it, considering I had to rewrite everything from memory (which is terrible by the way). Laugh

April 5th
Fighting, screaming, shouting.
Just a typical day for me.

I try to step over the broken beer bottles,
scattered on the marble floor.

From the outside, a white picket fence awaits.
From the inside, barbed wire traps.

Welcome inside
Welcome to hell.

Huh, that wasn't all that hard. Good thing too, it's getting late.

Monsters under my bed.
Clawing.

Waiting for me to rest.

April 8th
Welcome to the rotting festival
The dead jamboree.
The ticket in is survival.
The ticket out, is death.

lol. Guess what that one was about.

This one isn't much of a poem as it is a source of lulz. But it still counts as a half assed attempt...right?

April 9th

Kevin Jonas
Is a faggot.
Lavigne is a sellout.
Lesbian; I'm not one, quit asking.

Idiots.
Twilight.

When children don't have rights
In the simplest of matters.
Tiger Woods is a man
Ho.

First place...
I never get it.
Rain is only awesome when it isn't freezing.
Everything sucks.
