To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

College Educated Women & Respect
Sorry if this is the wrong post to put this topic in, but I'm wondering something. Last year in my sociology class, I read that the reason why college educated women have the least amount of out of wedlock childbirths is 'cause they have more job opportunites, a greater awareness of family planning, more decision making power in their relationships. But I doubt this has anything to do with college itself. Most women who attend college( or any type of school above high school. I went to a vocational school if anyone cares) and actually graduate have more self-respect, demand more respect, are more assertive, have higher standards, don't tolerate much abuse, don't give others second chances, know about birth control and demands the guy to use it, and so on. However, you don't need college to do any of those obviously. If some guy doesn't respect you, you shouldn't be bothered with him. Period. And don't give him a second chance either. And he won't use protection, don't have sex with him. EVER. I think it's pretty fuckin' disgusting that women and other "minorities" have to have a piece of paper in order to get some diginity from their fellow men. What does everyone else think?

I don't think college educated women are neccesarily smarter than those who aren't. I guy will know a smart, independent, woman.

I think it's probably just a class or income-level thing. Like I said before, I think poor people don't have the same urging to go to college. So it's a correlation but not a causal link.

Yeah, true. I live below the poverty line and for the most part, I don't really wanna go to college; I just want a decent job. Besides, I already have a certificate, but I might go to community college to major in another trade... if I can get the money.
