RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I don't want to sound sexist or anything, but I've defended women my whole life. Since I was a little kid I've been the little man of equality, and I still am. But lately I think feminism is going a bit overboard. I mean girls in high school are all FemiNazi's now...apparently males are evil and beat up little girls and women are stronger because they can bleed from their vagina. And this new Beyonce song that came out "girls who run this world" or whatever it's called, just pisses off. It enrages me, even more is the comments on YouTube. Feminism isn't about equality, it's about female superiority. I think Masculinism makes more sense than Feminism. Again, I'm not sexist, I believe in equality...

Couldn't agree more. That Beyonce video was absolutely retarded. Some feminists seem to be working towards women superiority and less for women equality.
Men have been absolutely superior for so long, feminists just think they deserve to have a turn. They want to make men endure what they have been enduring for thousands of years. Again, I'm not supporting that point of view, just saying how I think they see it.
I'm so sick of all these people but I'm scared to be alone...

Yes but it's not our fault that's been going on for thousands of years...why should we pay?

I wouldn't even bother turning towards mainstream culture as a guide for feminism. It's obviously bullshit, oppresive, and they are making money off of opression.
I'm a feminist, I just think women should be viewed as human beings. Meaning we don't all have to look like 5'8 models with blonde hair and makeup caked onto our face. And that we all aren't selfish and passive, and submissive. And that we are sexual creatures and should be allowed to take our shirts off in public like men.
But men have stereotypes to live up to also. Like acting macho for no reason.
To be an anarchist, is to suffer greatly. To be a black woman is to suffer secretly. To be the earth, is to suffer silently.
I wish no harm on anyone, but those whose harmful ways will not stop without the same harm.
It's time we kill this cancerous system, before it kills us and everything left of gaia. Rise from our immaturity and take back our autonomy!
Feminism. It's a ism, just like racism and ageism and heightism and sexism. Why can't people who believe in these causes just be fucking equalists? Equal rights and oppurtunity for everyone.

Again, I agree with you. School does teach you things. And once again, you are missing the point entirely. It's not that I disagree with school's mission or the things it teaches. What I object to is that the students are deprived of any choice in the matter. As benign as the intentions may be, any system that forces people into an environment where they have no say in their lives is a situation ripe for abuse of power.

You'll end up like Prometheus, chained to a rock with a bird eating your internal organs.
Or as close as that can be recreated on an internet forum.

Yea women are just so discriminated against Q_Q, dont act like women have pre dna encoded power over man. Win literally every divorce court, and can cry rape. Boohoo you dont make as much as us in the workforce, sorry we like eye candy it goes back to that dna and primal instincts.
Anywhere here is three videos to start off with to help on your journey of enlightenment and its education, funny and provides facts. Topic creator the fact that even mentioning feminism scares you into thinking you are sexist shows alot(You have fallen for their shaming language).

Wouldn't that be "equalism?"
Also, not all isms are like racism. Is Buddhism like racism? What about Animism? Idealism?

I think the movement is going too far. It isn't focusing just on actual inequalities... or if a man tries to support men's rights the feminists will freak out acting like women are still forced in the kitchen or something.
I won't lie internet racism/sexism etc. does annoy me... even if it is just jokes the constant "der niggers" and "bitches belong in the kitchen" shit is annoying.
