To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I think the government should get the hell out of marriage. Tax should just be based on family or no family.

Well, love is profittable so they won't stop doing any shit with marriage, even though what they do is ironically making things worse for everyone.
Getting married is doing the opposite of what it's supposed to be.

So long as that means gay couples can reap all the benefits that straight couples have under a marriage, that sounds great. Whether it's a State solution or a Libertarian one, I just wanna free me up some gays so I can wear my leather studded assless chaps proudly.

The united states wasn't founded on no christianity.
Its just the christians far outway in numbers and because religion makes people easy to control(government loves that).

The colonies were founded on Christianity (puritanism, to be more precise, at least in the North). But notice how as soon as they started putting the Bill of Rights together, they stuck freedom of religion in there, right in #1.
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.
The quickest way to kill a revolution is to wait for it.

Really, I always just thought we couldn't be arsed to pay taxes. (Explaining why when the government wanted to start reasonable (If I remember) taxes up again after America was a country, epic riots ensued).
But yeah, if anything, Britain needed to be knocked off it's high horse anyway.

Its not that we weren't willing to pay taxes, its that we weren't willing to pay taxes to a government we had no say in. And after the Sons of Liberty started did the Tea Party (the good kind, not the stupid Glenn Beck kind), the Brits basically put the city under martial law. Because as we all know, the best way to crush a rebel insurgency is to clamp down on civilians. That always ends popular support for the rebellion...

This, but so many people seem to have this idea that the establishment clause and free exercise clause mean that the government can't make a law where everyone has to be the same religion(or any at all), but the US was still founded on Christian principles. They say that it means the government can't get involved in religion, but the "Christian principles" that the government was founded on should stay in American government.
For some fun, tell them to name some "Christian principles" that they are talking about. Usually they can't. I can't think of any personally. The only two commandments(off topic but:ask a person who claims Christianity to name them IRL; most can't without help) that are actually laws in the United States(don't murder; don't steal). The one about lying is only a law in cretain situations.

They fought the French and Indian WAr for us, and needed to tax us to pay for their deficit. Honor? We complained about not being in a parliament, yet we had slaves.
