The problem isn't a particular economic model. The problem is greed. savagesociety did a pretty good job summing up the long-term effects of greed.

Why are people so greedy? Or value competition over co-operation? Forcing them to co-operate or to share isn't going to change the fact that they don't want to.

But what if the majority decided that they didn't want to be rich and instead wanted to dropout of their jobs then what?

It doesn't work for everybody, if the main goal propagated is to be rich.

And I honestly don't see how some can look into the faces of the less fortunate and be amused and empowered by their humiliation.

People do cooperate in the pursuit of their own interests the free market. Shareholders cooperate. Clients cooperate with professionals. Wal-Mart cooperates with manufacturers. Cooperation exists in the free market just as much as competition exists. They're like two sides of the same coin.

I don't see how everyone wanting to be rich leads to the destruction of capitalism. Not connecting the dots here.

Then they'd most probably not be able to maintain a good standard of living, and the people who still wanted to work would be able to demand higher wages because there was a smaller pool of willing workers.

I don't see why not. I don't enter into a deal with another person if I think I'll be hurt by it. We might both get richer.

I'm not amused or empowered by that. I'm amused by funny jokes, and empowered by the success of capitalism in the areas it has been tried, where the less fortunate are more fortunate than in countries where capitalism is almost nonexistent.

Umm, Rockefeller went in, lowered prices to a point that made him loose money, ran the other companies out of business, then once there was no more competition, he hiked prices. They didn't have a "choice". He was the only one left.

So wanting to be rich equals murder and being unhappy? I want to be rich, but I'm happy and I haven't murdered anybody. I think murdering people is wrong.

If they do they violate fundamental principles of the free market.

sapointing that you are so brainwashed into believing that things like greed are okay.
When clearly you know that this learned habit has contributed to the worst of man, and yet you still try to give it a second chance.
Capitalism works in theory, but it does not play out as so,because the system allows power-hungry individuals to take control.The system is war in itself, some living in luxuries others trying to feed their families, yet still thoughtlessly buying into propaganda those that want to keep them below and themselves higher.

It doesn't teach people to value community, and eachother over material wealth. Yet the other way around. Making a profit more important than the living conditions of those in lower class.

I used to be an an-cap, after reading For A New Liberty by Rothbard. I know the arguments for it, and I respect the position. And I'm still a libertarian. This guy seems kind of cool.
