To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Well, little 15yr old Jakey has been sneaking into the liquor cabinet again. Probably not for long, because someones ought to notice the missing alcohol sooner or later.

And before someone gets wise I'm not, or at least I don't think I am, as immature as I seem. I understand what it means to drink, and be an alcoholic (which I'm not.) And yes, I realize how bad alcohol is, I encourage people not to drink it. But there are a few reason why I do it. One, to rebel: all my life I've been trapped and encased, imprisoned to society and it's standards, and I just needed to break free of that to feel alive, not like a zombie. Second is because my life is not great. Sure I don't have cancer, my family does not live in poverty nor do they despise me, but I don't think that amounts to a great life. I've been struggling to deschool ever since summer holidays, and fighting who I am, so I can become who I want to be. Because I won't stand to just sit here and be fucked my God, and go along with what someone else tells me to do, or what I "should" do. I am ready to bear the consequences of my action, even if I'm not eager to surrender to them. I understand what I do, and I won't deny my responsibility, and I believe that's fine as I have a free-will and right to use it.

Alcohol is used to drown out pain. And, in fact, I support that side of narcotic and drug use more than the social part. Why? Because the social part is consumerism. And if you don't know why that's bad, ask Huxley: read Brave New World. Being a "happy" consumer who buys into drugs like candy is liable to get you brainwashed and conditioned, just like school does.

Anyway, I'm tired as fuck, it's three in the morning.

btw, AA says "give your life to a HIGHER power", not as a reference to god, but because you've already been reaching for a certain power and it hasnt been working.
