RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. Send me a message if you'd like to keep in touch with me & Steve.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

The Anti-School Riot

Authors Note: This story is based off my dream last night, and my grammar isn't the best.

It was a normal morning at school for Jack; he got up, poured cereal, ate it, and went to school after a fight with his parents. He would fight school at any chance give, and his parents would take things away from him for it. He went to school feeling that same fear of the police and of the authority figures there. He knew that he would have to escape that day, but how? The police would be sent after him and he would be sent back to school and punished. Summer break was right around the corner. He walked up to one teacher when switching classes and said "I don't like this place. It's a prison". He was the only subversive rebel at that school, or at least he thought that he was. He went to lunch to get some slop served to him and noticed an anti-school sign. It was kind of strange. Then we got our recess. Recess went by kind of fast, and then we lined back up.

In the next class, there was a count in order to see who was there. Immediately, someone stepped out of line. He said "Why is it that I'm in this prison being told that I would learn something?"
"Get back in line,"
Then what happened was everyone in line started shouting anti school things. He had re-watched the riot episode from prison break, and so he quickly remembered that as he watched the teachers backing off from the heated students. They were now shouting "We want to be released!!!" The teachers were calling for backup. He saw people running around the school, burning propaganda posters, destroying electrical lines, and generally destroying this awful school. They decided that it was too cruel for even the most dangerous criminals. People started escaping school, but just then the school police walked in and tasered someone. They started shooting their tasers until everyone that was escaping had their hands over their head. Jack was the only successful escapist.

To be continued...

I HATE my school. I'd rather die than go to school for another 6 years.Fu

The Anti-School Riot

I was watching Prison Break earlier today and the prison riot began kinda like that. xD

Yeah I rewatched that riot scene over and over again last year when I was flying to Mallorca. That was what I was going for.

This brings up a lot of feelings and I can see it being adapted into something on video. Going to read part 2 now and looking forward to seeing what next!
