RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. Send me a message if you'd like to keep in touch with me & Steve.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Nightmares that stood out to me

So in 3rd grade, I started having nightmares quite a lot. Here are some of the worst among those.

The Alien Nightmare- So in this nightmare, I was teaching people how to hypnotize themselves, but suddenly, with one person, eyes just started popping up all over his face. He shrunk, and grew three horns. I was terrified. The same thing started happening to me, and I woke up at exactly 3 AM.

The Concrete Truck- In this horrific experience, it started off with me walking out of an airport. I saw this massive concrete truck that was just spewing concrete at the sidewalk. People threw their concrete-covered pets down the storm drains. I went into a cinematic mode where I was looking at these two sinister looking people that had a giant cake sitting right in front of them. The concrete completely destroyed that. Then I suddenly found myself in a car. My parents were driving to a restaurant and I could still hear that diesel fuel combustion from that truck. I suddenly knew that I was dreaming. I tried doing everything to get out of that horrible, horrible nightmare. When we arrived at that restaurant, I started throwing dishes on the ground in an attempt to trigger being murdered by the restaurant owner. Everyone just ignored me as the truck got closer and closer. I suddenly woke up for about five seconds before going back to sleep and continuing that nightmare.

I HATE my school. I'd rather die than go to school for another 6 years.Fu

Nightmares that stood out to me

I once had a nightmare that ended up being not so bad; I was being chased by blue wearing nuns into a Goodwill store and when I entered a Goodwill store, a number of people were there to celebrate my birthday.

Those blue wearing nuns ended up being people I knew who chased me to my surprise party.

Nightmares that stood out to me

I vaguely remember I had a dream as a small kid. I somehow remember me and three other people being captured by these witches in the misty swamp, and there were these body parts hanging from ceiling, along with cutlery. And they tied us up to these chairs and discussed how they were going to prepare us for breakfast; they were hideous, grey-skinned, long, contorted noses, skinny, deformed limbs. If you ever played Skyrim and saw a hagraven, that's a good portrayal of them. And, I can't remember how, but we escaped on the witches' brooms. We flew over this dark forest, the trees were gnarled, and barren, and we crashes out brooms. We dropped into the forest and into a net. We were trapped in some net affixed to a three when these hideous, barbaric monsters, that looked like bulls with green skin surrounded us and said they wanted to kill us and wear our heads as ornaments. We told them about the witches. They said they despised the witches and told us if we want freedom we will bring them to the witches so they can peel the skin of their back with blunt knifes and beat them to death with their own ribs, torn out from their bodies. I was five at the time.

Nightmares that stood out to me

Kinda reminds me of an old Danny Antonucci cartoon called The Brothers Grunt.

I'm not gonna post videos/images on here because it's gross. At least it gave us Ed Edd n Eddy though.

Sounds like one of those Skyrim type video games. Nightmares seem to have fucked up horrifying things. Side note: The first game that I develop will be an adventure psychological horror game where you play as a character in a nightmare. This game is still in development.

Well, i'm working on it with a friend of mine over Skype, but he never responds to my Skype calls. I'm also going to have to get one of those steam green light licences (which cost $100) to upload it to steam.

Shit, 100 bucks, man, that's a fortune. I'll buy it if it ever comes out.

RE: Nightmares that stood out to me

I just remembered another dream. So, until I was six, I lived on this farm in Poland. The house I lived in was ancient and huge, and run-down looking. All there was for like twenty miles every direction was fields, an old forest(more like a jungle), some old shack, and some wheat fields. We also had this hulking monster of a german shepards that scared me. The place made an impression. So often I would hqve this dream where men in wolf masks would sneak into the house. The dream was from a snake-like POV crawling on the ground, following them. They held guns and made low, growling noises. I didn't see myself, but I felt myself hiding from them; and I knew where, I was in the kitchen cuboard because I got up to get myself some water. So these dog-men would sneak into my parents bedroom and shoot them to death. I remember screams and my grandmother running around the house, looking for me, telling me to run. She got shot too, and because the house was so isolated no one heard the screaming. I watched some fucked up movies as a kid, I guess.

Also, I found a terror and fascinatiom with werewolves when I got into old, monster flicks two years ago.

I hate those fucked up nightmares. They are always using your emotions to cause extreme paranoia in your life after that nightmare.

This sounds like an 80s horror film from Eastern Europe.
