RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Sad Got into a big trouble at school today

Hi guys.

Since two weeks ago, I've been throwing milk packets down the class window for fun.

Today I did that and the school principal came to class angrily and took me and 5 other people who sat near the window to his office.

Our school principal is a old arse**** and is well-known for being harsh and extremely illogical. Cry

I was the first person to be questioned and I was really scared so I lied. No
All other people were questioned too and after that, 4 were sent back to class and me and another person got prohibited to go to class until our parents come because we were "the most suspicious". I had a word fight with school principal and told him if my parents come to school I'll be ashamed in front of my parents because it's the first time I've fell into a trouble. he said "that's none of my business." I told him that he should apologise to my parents if I was not the milk thrower. He said "I won't apologise to anyone."

Happily he didn't call my parents. My mother would have killed me then. Cry

I got prohibited to attend the classes today. What do you think I should do for tomorrow?

Some best friends told me to keep calm and deny all the things principal says and he'll give up on me.

I really am not ready to tell the truth to the principal, he'll punish me soooooooo badly. Cry No Sad Cry No Sad

What do you think I should do? I'm in 11th grade, a boy, and my grades are really great and I never fell into trouble before.
Thanks Sad

RE: Got into a big trouble at school today

If he questions you again you could try invoking your Miranda Rights, although he doesn't sound like he'll be willing to listen, so if that doesn't work I suggest trying to lie in a believable fashion, for example, when you deny something don't mess with things or look away, be sure to maintain eye contact and try not to stutter, change your story or do anything otherwise suspicious.

How much trouble do you realistically think you're going to get into if you get caught? You're not going to get arrested for throwing milk packets, calm down.

I don't know what you should do aside from Prankster's idea, which was what I was going o say.
I guess try to keep calm and whatnot. Being stressed never did anybody good. Watch, listen to, or read something funny or badass or relaxing, perhaps.

Got into a big trouble at school today

You know guys, my biggest problem is the ban from classes. This principal is badass and told me today: "I won't send you to class until you confess either you did that, or who did it."

He might have me banned from attending classes tomorrow, or even worse, to call my parents Cry If he calls my parents and they come to school, they're kill me in home.

Just get your mind off of it for half an hour maybe, then start thinking about it as calmly as possible. You know your parents and your principal better than I do, so maybe you can come up with something on your own.

Well... you kinda brought this on yourself.

You could confess and get it over with, unless the wrath of your parents will be too much to bear... then go with the full denial like the others said.

It's not like you hurt anybody or anything, right?

RE: Got into a big trouble at school today

"Sir, if confessing to this allegation is the only way back to class then I am in a huge dilemma. I desperately want to return to class because education is so dear to me. However, since it is the absolute truth that I have never done anything with my milk besides drink it, and furthermore I have never witnessed any of my classmates doing anything odd with their milk either, I cannot in good conscience lie to you and say I did."

If you want to be a different fish, you've got to jump out of the school.

Just deny it. You don't have Miranda rights in school lol. If nobody rats you out and he has no way to know it was you, can he punish you.

It would also be wise to cease your milk throwing.

RE: Got into a big trouble at school today

Schools don't need proof or witnesses or anything at all to punish students. All you have to do as a teacher is say you did it. Unless it goes to expulsion hearings truth is irrelevant. The student's word means nothing and the teacher is always right.

If you want to be a different fish, you've got to jump out of the school.

I would've thought Big Brother would be a better Orwell themed nickname for a teacher.

True, but then you wouldn't also be calling them a pig. Although, either one could be hidden with one of those super cheesy excuses. Sort of.

Got into a big trouble at school today

Hi
Sorry for the necro, but as the OP, I've thought that if I post what happened at the end and some needy guy finds this thread in a google search/etc. he might be helped.

Ok, so I confessed it, not to the principal, but instead to another teacher whose my relationship was really better.
So I managed to attend the classes again.

But the principal called my mother anyway :O and when my mother asked me in home angrily "What's with this milk story?" I innocently and calmly answered that our principal was angry at us for wasting our milk instead of drinking it. She got calmed and said "Nevermind" afterwards Biggrin
Well, Technically I didn't lie XD

And thanks for all the replies Smile

Got into a big trouble at school today

I remember throwing a water bottle out of the window once. Well, I actually tried to just pour the water out of the window (I was obviously mad at someone), but the bottle fell out of my hand and landed in the garden, to which only teachers were allowed to go. I got into trouble, but at least no one called my mum. (My dad lives in a different country and my parents divorced when I was 9 years old, so no one from my school could call him)
