To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I don't know if it happens to anyone else, but sometimes when I open the SS main page, I get auto-redirect to "alteducationhome" named site which doesn't exist because it's one of those annoying placeholder pages when you land on a site that "doesn't exist" and has a link to the marketplace to purchase the domain.

I don't know how the hell it's happening, and if it's related to the site or just my browser, but the redirect is annoying as hell.

That's very strange. Ilijia mentioned something like that happening, but I haven't been able to reproduce it or figure out any elements on the page that would cause that.

Has anyone else experienced it? Where exactly is it redirecting to?

What OS and Browser are you using?

What ISP do you have?

Do you use a specific DNS? If so which? (Note: If you use the ISP provided one, then this should be no)



The Reasons I am asking is because this seems to be a DNS server issue, which may occur. If we can get those down then we can probably figure out which servers are having this issue and work to resolve them...

Hrm....so have you manually set your computer's DNS server to something, or is it set to automatically do it?

Hrm...alright so it seems the provider's DNS Server is sometimes messing up and stating that school-survival.net is to redirect to that site...

Reminds me of that annoying IE google redirect virus that caused me to finally embrace Chrome. That was unbelievably the most annoying thing I ever dealt with.

The problem should be fixed now... it seems that all site traffic coming from search engines was being redirected there by some code. I asked Soul what it was about.

The problem is resolved i had the same same problem but it was taking me to another site that was hacked recently and there were some viruses downloaded in to my computer and somehow managed to delete them.
