Simple. Mods who are in a possession of conflict of interest should not use mod powers on their threads except in extreme cases (Like Duelix invasion, spam or totally obsence imagery).

People are damn quick to pull out the big guns. Too many people have big guns. A+B=Chaos.

Hell, an admin just blew off his leg and lost adminship.

I call for promotion of Brain to Judge Admin with the simple task of wearing a cool robe and putting on a burning gaze and nasty scowl to keep all the nasty little gunners in position. And mabye the infrequent handling of mod stuff if necessary. Would have just PMed soul but ig appears PM is disabled and I dont have any other way to contact.

Srsly, is there like a secret telegram area code to contact Soul?

You forgot that being a mod or admin immediately grants you the ability to do whatever the fuck you please, insult anyone who has an issue with it, completely misinterpret the reason you're a mod or admin to begin with, and use that misinterpretation as an excuse for your actions because you can't come up with any other justification besides "hurrdurrr im an admun/mawd"

Well Chanku self destructed, Night is literally like a shadow that rarely is sedn and Xcriteria is...dealing with other stuff and often not keen on bringing the holy hammer down on your blasphemous heads. I dint even know who is mods or forum helpers. Soul pops in and out but without PM I dont know how ya'll are contacting her.

Well, mods can't be viewed like judges. A judge has a position of power, and said power isn't always too good.

What a mod ship needs to look like is someone who has been equipped a set of tools, used only for when they are needed. A forum first aid kit, if you will. When they are not needed, they are simply put away and not discussed. When they are, you take them out, fix the issue, and put them back. You don't use these tools when they aren't needed, because they can do harm, much like a defibrillator at a school. When someone is misbehaving, you don't take it out and wave it around, threatening to use it on people. You only touch it when someone's heart has stopped. I believe that Xcritera and Night are using this approach, and only people that are willing to use it should be considered.

Can Brainiac be trusted with this toolbox? I think so, but it's not my place to decide.

So basically, you want to be a moderator for moderators? Makes sense, although I don't see why that would be necessary since SS really has no mod system in place now, excluding the Forum Assistants group.

xcriteria doesn't utilize his admin powers since he'd rather handle things diplomatically and sees himself as a mediator for all discussions on SS. I'm not sure if Night is either a mod or admin, but yup, she's literally a shadow. Hence her name? Razz

I'm really surprised she'd be able to get such a position because she doesn't strike me as the mod-/admin-type, IMO. Forum Assistants are a subgroup of moderators and they only do the most menial tasks that a mod can do, and those in that position are supposed to be way less intimidating than seeing a mod or admin utilizing the forums.

I'm not sure that putting moderators/admins back was a good idea anymore. It's much simpler when nobody can do anything except me. But the crap thing about that is that I need to keep checking up here, and I really really don't want to. Seriously, I was doing great until yesterday when I got kinda forced into coming here again and doing stuff. Then I got all pissed and depressed again. This place is bad for me and I need to be able to be away from it more than I'm here.

You don't really have anyone that won't go crazy with power that you can trust enough to give the site to from what I know, but you don't want to take it entirely down either I presume.
So you either take it down, leave it to someone else that might fuck it up, or you keep coming here to moderate, but that is draining enough on your own.

Tough call.

Maybe because this stuff is important. And change can happen. All the people in this latest flareup came to this with at least some reasonable intentions... and they're all capable of learning and want to see good things for the site. That goes a long way. Smile
