RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

I used to take a day off on my birthday...
Useless shit. same as anywhere else.
Used to sometimes.
Got A's and B's (Remarkably high Intelligence, better than anyone was in my school.) Then I stopped caring becuase, hey, if you're not failing (F), you're passing! (at least a D-.)
All the time: I'd cuss, throw things at staff, spit on teachers, proclaim Pro-drugs in public, make death-threats (death-threats were less serious back then, but now I'd imagine they'd have you arrested) Give bad nicknames to staff members with stupid names (i.e. "Herpes") chew gum then spit it on the carpet and grind it in (Dumb Janitors) Write things in books, write things on walls in bathroom stalls, spread rumors about the people there, steal library books, vandalism, shooting off fire-extinguisher, pulling fire alarm, prank call teachers, calling teachers names in class, throwing students into teachers and then running away, broke vice principal's "teacher of the year award" (she cried Razz Evil ) smoking on property, cherry-bombing toilets, the list goes on and on...ahhh...those were the days...
I was regarded as a hero to the students, everybody liked me.
Never.
...uh...yeah... :<_<:

TRIGGER WARNING: THIS TRIGGER WARNING CONTAINS TRIGGER WARNINGS!

Dear Tumblrites: Despite your wrongly self-diagnosed PTSD, no line of scientific evidence suggests people can be triggered over the internet. Triggering works through the senses (i.e. smell, taste, touch, vision, hearing.) but it goes through real time; if you're not experiencing it in real life as it's ACTUALLY HAPPENING in your ACTUAL life, you CANNOT be triggered. The only exception to this is if you have a seizure, but then again, that's triggered by epilepsy (i.e. rapidly-changing flashing lights) NOT PTSD. Remembering a bad incident is NOT the same thing as having a flashback. When you remember, you think; when you flashback, you feel.

I try to stay away the best I can. I missed 27 days total last year. Thank fucking God. I missed first period 53 times. Needless to say, after the first semester of missing 53 days, I got study hall. I missed study hall 62 times. I like my sleep :3 I never got in trouble for it either BiggrinD - I'm a sneaky fuckar!!!

Umm.. only when forced

In study hall. Only study hall. Unless it's a project

High C's or higher (Mostly B's and 2 A's, always.. I dunno why. I apparently just like 2 A's.) I'm a senior this year. Woot, last year Smile

Ohhhhh yeah. You ever flipped a teacher off and called a close minded cunt rag? Not a good idea. Notttt a good idea.

Lots Razz

Yeah, they regret it though. I don't get bullied for long. I'm kind of a mean little shit. Smile I'm small but I don't put up with BS

Not that I can recall. I'm not a bully. It happens to me. I don't want to be a bully to anyone else. It feels like shit.

Sorta, No, No, Suckish, Yes, ....I guess, Yes, If you think verbally abusing the bullies bullying then yes. In that order.

Someone dear to me once said "We are the light." But, if that's true, then why am I still searching?

Re: What are you like at school?

Do you attend often? Yes.

Do you do work at school? Usually, except during study hall. Fuck study hall. I hate having it the last period of the day. I could rant for hours about the school forcing study hall on us because we "left too early and made the school look bad" last year.

Do you do homework? I half-ass my homework like there's no tomorrow. I am usually found frantically scribbling something down during the class before it's due, but somehow, I manage to always get credit for it. (That's why I hate teachers who check for accuracy and not completion.)

What are your grades like? Amazing... unless you count math. Last year, I had a 98 or above in every subject except geometry. I struggled to maintain a C in that class.

Have you ever been deep trouble? No. Well, in eighth grade, I had this gym teacher who totally hated me, and one day, I couldn't lift weights. I'm a friggin' weakling, and how many 14-year-old girls regularly lift weights, anyway? When questioned, I told her they were too heavy, so she screamed at me, kicked me out of class, then came up to me after class and bitched me out for disrespecting her authority.

Do you have many friends?
I have many acquaintances, but I have a sufficient number of friends, I suppose. The only class I don't have any friends in is fucking study hall, which I already said I hated.

Are you bullied by anyone? Used to be. I had my own personal hate club all throughout middle school and into freshman year of high school. No one I know hates me right now, though.

Have you bullied anyone?
Not really. Well, I told one of the girls in the aforementioned group of bullies that she was worthless and the only skill in life she'd ever have was sucking older guys' dicks, but that was after she started shit with me. I can get pretty bad when it comes to self-defense.

Always. My parent's wont let me get away with not turning up without good reason, such as illness or not being able to walk / drive there. Hense my love of all things icy.

Yes. I work as hard as i can in school, for two reasons. One is my point of view - i have to be there, so i may as well get a decent set of grades out of it. Two is that it gives me something to think about other than bitches and hoes.

Most of the time. Sometimes i get too much and dont do it, or just forget. I always do math homework.

High. All my targets are a* grades, and i nearly always get somewhere close.

Nope. I have a pratically clean record. I one strangled a girl in PE and the teacher just told me to sit in the office until i caled down. Didnt get told off or anything.

Most people take any opportunity to take the piss out of me, a few in particular.

I never went out of my way to. I might have made a snide remark behind my hand or made comments to my friends that they couldn't hear, but i never set out to bully someone. I've been a right little bitch to my friends sometimes when we argued, but i think it's more a case of giving as good as i get.

So yeah, im a right old goody two shoes....
