About thread splitting.

How exactly does thread splitting work, what happens to the posts after the split, and when/why is it done?

About thread splitting.

It's dumped in a cesspit known as "Split Discussions", though it retains the title of the thread it was cut out from(obviously with the "author" now being the person who's post was split).

It's done to keep a thread clear from clutter...theoretically. A tool in the belt of a mod.

About thread splitting.

It can be split anywhere else too, for whatever reason. Like if it spawns a whole other discussion that's detracting from what the original topic was about.

Split Discussions is for discussing why particular posts were split, or why they were posted in the first place.
