Cirriculum Spanish is crap

We have a good teacher for Spanish, however, she herself has said that she has to teach to the curriculum instead of things that would be useful when actually communicating in other countries.

Why the hell would I want to tell someone whats in my pencil case? Sure its a gateway to say other things but its a bad one at that.

I holidayed with my dad and step-mum Fuerteventura for two weeks, and from being in the Spanish bars I've learned so much about the differences in dialect. I wasn't taught a thing about different ways of speaking the language, its like an accent. From being there I learned so much.

I find myself speaking with the locals, teaching them English and them teaching me Spanish, learning advanced, useful stuff on the internet because the system that we're taught with is complete crap. The topics are so bland and uninteresting, I'd rather that time be spent on learning different ways to say things and communicating in a casual way.
