To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I'm sure few are aware I'm a fan of a show called My Little Pony. Why do you gawk when I say this? Because cartoon ponies are not for older audiences past the age of 8-10. Now this is another fucking example of how fucked up society is. Why should I have to answer why I like a good show because it's for kids. I blame shows like Fanboy and Chum-Chum and Breadwinners. I don't have a fucking solution to this and in school whenever I draw something awesome with Twilight Sparkle on it I'm always asked "You like My Little Pony, why it's for kids you know". I wish I could like cartoons and animation and people could just fucking respect that and leave me the fuck alone and stop thinking I'm not mature. I'm more mature than you assholes picking on me for liking a show. Yes I'm often bullied for things like this.

I like porn. And they call it mature stuff. I guess people who say I'm immature for watching porn are actually immature themselves.

When I feel like procrastinating, I watch things (movies, cartoons, music videos) I haven't seen in years, so I've seen Hercules, Pooh bear movies, SmashMouthusic videos, Rugrats whenever I can find them just to feel nostalgic

This is an ancient account I have not used in a long time. My views have changed much in the intervening months and years.
Nonetheless, I refuse to clean it up. Pretending that I've held my current views since the beginning of time is what we in the industry call a lie. Asking people to do so contributes to moralistic self-loathing. "See, those people have nothing damning! I do! I'm truly vile!"
Because you can never be a good person with a single blemish on the moral record, I thought that simply entertaining some thoughts made me irredeemable. Though I don't care for his writing style, William Faulkner presents a good counterexample. He went from being a typical Southern racist to supporting the civil rights movement. These days we'd yell at him for that, probably.
People are allowed to change their views.
Nevertheless, this period of my life has informed some of how I am today. In good ways and bad ways. To purge it would be to do a disservice to history. Perhaps it will not make anyone sympathetic, but it may help someone understand.
If, after reading all this, you still decide to use the post above as evidence that I am evil today, ask yourself if you have never disagreed with the moral code you now follow. In all likelihood you did, at some point. If some questions are verboten, and the answer is "how dare you ask that," don't expect your ideological opponents to ever change their minds.

I'm not going to go be a hypocrite and go judge people for watch they watch/play. I could care less if you or anyone else watches porn because it's not making you or anyone else any worse of a person because they watch people fuck. Judge people for who they are and not they're interests (unless they are interested in killing people or watching shit on treehouse like "The Wiggles".

I'm interested in killing people. I've killed approx 1300.
Sure, many of them were clones of another, and mostly made up of pixels. But the little puddle of same-shaped blood and the sweet crunch when I run them over(accidentally or purposefully) is amazing.
I'm sure the pixels of Liberty City are not happy with me.

alright, um
i hope i don't sound too mean or anything about this but i don't mind my little pony. it's the brony fandom that irritates me a LOT.
no it's not the porn (believe me, i'm into some fucked up shit. ) but it's how the fandom flaunts it. back when i was on some other forums they would constantly post pictures of pinkie pie and whatever and whenever i would tell them to stop politely but they would be like "if yu dun liek it dun be here!!!!" and "why don't you just give it a try? stop being so closed-minded." even though i have seen bits of the show and it is okay.
i'm not going to say all bronies are like that, because they're not. it's just, a lot of the ones i have met on the internet have ruined ever getting into the show for me.

I agree, Mizael. It seems the loudest members of that (or any, really) fandom tend to make things worse for the others, and annoy everyone else. As a result, some believe the entire MLP fandom is this way, and have mean things to say about the show in general. (Members of either group are not welcome to spread their hatred in this thread, as just another reminder.)
And indeed, not all bronies, pegasisters, and other fans of MLP are like that; I happen to be acquainted with quite a few, and I can certainly tolerate (and in this thread, encourage) discussion about the show. Tolerance, indeed, is key, but it has a limit: You don't have to tolerate the intolerant.

I don't like the fandom much either. I prefer to be just a fan of the show and nothing more. Same goes for Adventure Time with all the shipping. I wasn't aware there was MLP porn.
