To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

1984 = School
I have started reading George Orwell's "1984" and am about 100 pages in. After reading this much I can tell you with a full heart that 1984 (or Oceania) is near exact to school. The students are the proles, the teachers are the Outer Party, the vice-principal(s) are the Inner Party, and the principal, aware or not, is Big Brother.
We are always threatened with cameras and the fact that "The principal has cameras" or "The principal is watching", which is like saying Big Brother is watching. We are forced to admit our crimes. Freedom is looked down upon by both sides. Emmanuel Goldstein, Enemy of the People, promoted free speech. If you think differently than the authority, it plays a role of thoughtcrime. Thoughts always lead to words, and they get you punished. They have a lack of care for free speech.
Even the SMARTBoards may have cameras, and it must to see anything. But I think I see one other than that one. Then it is a telescreen. Even the FOOD is similar in quality.

I know I ended it being a drama queen, I don't really agree with the ideology anymore, and I'm really not the same person I was (I went through a neopagan phase!) but still this site was the first online community I was in. Big Brother doesn't exist. Big Brother is actually the manifestation of the collective beliefs of the state population. It exists only because they believe.
As for the Inner Party, they serve to maintain this perception. The Outer Party serve's as the back-bone, the tools. The proles are the cushions, the indifferent manipulated masses with more freedoms than the Outer Party.
Thus...Big Brother is the theory of the education system. Inner Party is the people of high influence(like in those departments and councils and such, including principals). The Outer Party are the students and teachers. The parents and other adults are the proles.
But I'd disagree since the 1984 government is far more successful in manipulating it's citizens.

I'm lucky in that the schools I've been to didn't have many cameras. They were alike in the other regards, though.

We had a few SMARTBoards but half were not working, and of the remaining half only 2-3 teachers knew how to use them.

I liked smartboards we had one in 6th grade....the teacher won it in a contest against one of the people at the company. Heh, I think it was a hot pepper eating contest or something like that...

By the way, speaking of boards, anyone remember those green chalkboards? Last time I saw them was 8th grade in middle school in Graphic Arts. Actually, I think that was the first time I saw a classic green chalkboard.

There's one of those in my math classroom. There are a lot of boards in that room, actually, one of which is a SMARTBoard and another four are whiteboards.

Oh yeah, all the time. Not a day goes by that some new equation, request for help, or random doodle shows up on most of those boards. (Except the SMARTBoard, because it's kind of hard to erase marker or chalk from one of those.)
