To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

You assume that for the subchannel to earn the distinction of hosting productive discussion that every single line typed in that channel must be 'productive', which it seems in this case is rather subjective. It's an IRC channel, not a formal board meeting. Hell, IIRC the good shit only started after you left. Very astute observational skills.

No, I didn't.
For the record, most serious discussion takes place in the main channel now, since there hasn't been much reason to take it into the subchannel. Same thing with #SS-SrsBns; the 'non-serious' discussion needs are easily met in the main channel. It says right in the topic: "feel free to make subchannels if multiple topics are being discussed".
If you're so mired in your own ignorance and disdain for others that you feel the need to create drama because you're too much of an asshole to fit in #SchoolSurvival, I don't know what to say to you.

@trar, don't kid yourself into thinking that these "seriously discussions" will ever lead to any real changes and results, they're time killers at best, most people here would rather complain than putting the time and effort into constructing actually effective strategies for convincing their parents to let them get out of school. They come on here and preach to the choir and and listen to opinions that they already know what they'll agree with, and it goes on and on without ever accomplishing anything. So don't pretend like there's some important shit going on here. And you're attributing your own personality to me if you think I'm big enough of a popularity whore to care about not fitting in a chat room, I asked to be banned form there FYI. I suggest you stop wasting your time with me and go back to your "serious discussions"

The forums exist, in part, for people who are being shit on by public school to vent on. Not everyone who joins (or has been here for a while, for that matter) has to participate in every discussion, serious or not. There's a separate site for that, incidentally.
